The United States Growing Passion Fruit Industry
Originally from South America, Passion fruit, known for its exotic allure and intense taste, is starting to catch on in the United States.
The tropical fruit is native to the regions that stretch from southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina. In the U.S., its cultivation is gaining momentum due to various factors.
We visited Brokaw Ranches in Los Angeles, California, where they have been growing passion fruit for the past few years. These ranches mostly produce Avocados and other fruits. Passion fruit cultivation is relatively recent as it helps farmers diversify their production.

While the villagers may not have the concept of “nonviolence silk”, it is to be noted that Hinduism very much has the concept of ahimsa, that is nonviolence to every living creature and thus you find the largest number of vegetarians living in the country. We’ve been ecological and animal cruelty free since centuries. 😅

"Wild trees" "Native forests" - shows an obvious farm set up with trees neatly in a row. Sure, its better than killing, but thats not very eco freindly or bio diverse, i doupt theres much ecology going on there with what looks like quite intense use of the land. As long as its in a controlled area of historic farming use then thats fine i guess. I would have liked an exploration of that in the video though, 'these are the tree they eat, this is how many acres it takes'

While it is nice that the silkworms are not killed, I also wonder what the impact on local environments would be of the released moths who might breed and keep increasing in population...Guess there are some natural predators to keep their population in check...
