This happened during the 2019 Canadian GP Hamilton was chasing Vettel for P1. As Vettel defends into the chicane, he loses his rear and has to abandon the corner to regain grip. Hamilton manages to stay on track, but stays towards the outside. As Vettel abandons the corner, his car goes over the grass. He loses very little speed and the slippery grass covers his wheels. Once he is back on the track, he nurses the car with little grip to avoid hitting the wall/Hamilton. Hamilton challenges this move with the FIA calling it unsafe. The FIA agrees with Hamilton/Mercedes and adds a five second penalty to Vettel. Which ends up costing Vettel the race win. Enjoy!
