Factory Five Roadster Build - Coming Soon
What happened to the f9
When they say significant modification they mean it! To the point where it doesn't make sense doing it.
It's about time they change that frame because I have a buddy who bought their higher end or highest end one that takes a Corvette swap and the frame or chassis on it the tubes it's all crap so shitty and unsafe. They look good on the outside but when you get into it to have it where it's no built right it cost a fortune! There are other producers out there putting out a far better product from the ground up at cheaper prices apples to apples
This is all brilliant... except for the donuts in the parking lot. I instantly went from "Look at this brilliant piece of sophisticated in-house design and engineering" to "And now I remember why I stopped going to cruises and hangouts. There's always a version of Captain Donuts who ruins it." Love the look of the new top. You've pulled off something skilled people have been getting wrong for over half a century now. If I were you, I would not allow that well-deserved engineering and design achievement to be associated with mental midgets abusing cars. It turns off potential customers, not to mention their significant others/gatekeepers of the extra stall in the family garage. As soon as my wife saw those few seconds of Captain Donuts gone wild, I knew my here-to-fore successful campaign to put a 289 MK5 kit in my garage was set back by months.
The idea of driving a 427 AC Cobra on a cold day is exciting. It is like they had place like England, Europe and Southern California in mind with this hardtop.
nice
I'm 6'3" and full sized. I want a modern Coyote engine to power my dream. I live in the PNW and so rain is the norm. This Mk 5 is like a wish list come true. All I need now is for the Canadian peso to gain some value! Always an excuse...... but now its just the one.
They didn't redesign the body at all. The body is the exact same one from the MK4. They only added a roof option specifically designed for the MK4/MK5 body.
Have they improved those horrendous door gaps that require hours of fiberglass work to make look decent?
Hopefully that Hard top will be removeable.
Been saving for the 65 but now it’s going towards the mk5. That hard top looks great never was a fan of the bologna cut 65 bit i was willing to reshape it. Now i like the mk5. Very nice looking top.
The one thing i am interested in is how the top is attached and sealed.
I want one with a roof 😊
Oh dammmm!!! Smoking hot Cobra!!!!!
Power Nation
Where do I find the build video
You know, the deviations between the original and what is "standard" on a repo roadster now? Will soon everything be replaced with "new" just like the Avanti Coupe? It's all self-serving BS!
Is the 7.3 "Godzilla" really "massive"? It has much greater displacement than a Coyote, but the pushrod 2-valve-per-cylinder design is compact and light. "Huge" might have been a better term, but even then it only applies to displacement, not to package volume. The Godzilla is probably significantly longer, but is also narrower and likely lower; they are about the same weight.
Don’t know if they offer one but sure would like to see them offer a replica of the Pontiac Solstice with an array of LS engines to choose from!
Needs a top
The hard top for sure… but definitely need an LS in it..
I LOVE THE FASTBACK....... LOOK GREAT.....
I want a 5.0 10spd automatic; I wonder if the bigger transmission will fit?
Always liked the Superformance cars better.
The hard top does look like a British design. Kind of like a Triumph.
The new hard top looks so much better than the old top.
A targa top version of the hardtop would be awesome… but also unlikely..😢
720p...why?
THIS is EXACTLY what I was hoping for!!!
You and me both! Excited for the full reveal soon!
Now I need to decide on the Shelby Hardtop or the Daytona..
I won't resist anything. I want one and I want to know how much.
Base price is expected to be around $25k for the Complete Mk5.
@@Fauxbra5.0 thank you
A high revving 289 would be a great choice
Would love a Hemi 6.4l in there. That would be cool. Don't say it was Ford powered as this is not a Ford product.
I’ve seen LS engines in the roadsters, and I know of a few builders putting hemis in their hot rods!
Hardtop looks amazing
I’m sold on the hard top look. ! It’s beautiful
Rumors are that the hardtop will be Carbon Fiber and should be available to order Q3 of 2025. There’s also a soft top option that hasn’t been mentioned yet.
I've looked at factory five to expensive and a person can't purchase the what they want you basically buy what they sell you
I'm a newbie on the FFR forum too and was planning on ordering MK4 and a Gen4 Coyote package from Forte. I was ready to place my order and then I saw the video that was posted. I decided to hold up and order a MK5 too. I'm not to far from Branham and was able to check out his build. I'd heard the footbox is tight but it honestly surprised me how tight it was. I'm only 5-7 so the height didn't bug me but I think more foot room and more engine bay room for the Coyote along with the stiffer chassis and other improvements will make the higher cost worth it. I'm hoping they will have a price and be ready for orders in January. I guess I'm the only one not really interested in the hard top even though it looks way better than the non factory options. Here I'd been planning for months and one video made me reconsider, lol. I've already talked to Forte and he's ready to go with the Coyote packages, he's a great guy to talk to, very knowledgeable. I'm planning on doing everything myself except for the bodywork and paint. Trackday17
Mike Forte’s a good dude. Already spec’d my motor with him as well - was originally going with a pushrod 302, but really tempted to pull the trigger on a Coyote in the Mk5. Debating on if I want to go full crate coyote, or do the work myself with a junkyard pullout. There’s a few guys around me that sell the motor with the PBH control pack that makes things a lot friendlier on the bank account.
@@Fauxbra5.0 , Forte seems to a real straight guy. I think I considered every engine possible but I keep coming back to thinking the Coyote is the best option all around. Honestly a 302 would be fun and I definitely considered that.
The chassis looks more race car and less kit car?
The guy who started this company doesnt care about fit or finish. He said to many people these are race cars so fit and finish dont matter. True p.o.s in my opinion
Slap a Tesla Plaid drivetrain in it, and have the wildest car ever made.
Nope
Revolt just posted a video of a dude who did just that…had to lengthen and widen the chassis, and it’ll light up the tires at 60mph.
I wouldn't mind a Ford Taurus SHO AWD into the MK5 with rear wheel drive bias .
WHAT is the fascination with the 427 COBRAS? More weight, ugky body, change weight distribution, of the original Ace.
The sales numbers of 289 cars would disagree. Most like the 427 shape, of those who vote with thier money you are in the minority.
@philipmacduffie7612 ever DRIVEN an ACE? I HAVE, it DID/DOES need more horse power. Does it need 250 MORE HP and 300 POUNDS in the front end, NO! A comparison would be like people who shoehorn a small block in a 240/260Z then are mystified by ehy it don't turn any more? I love Carol Shelbys ideas but till I die, think the 427 cobra was a bodge job.
@@fooman2108 Did you buy one? Because no one cares about your opinion only your money. Even Carol only cared about dollars. The 427 body shape is more popular that is fact. You don't like it, no one that made the sales numbers cares. So FFR is going to make what sells not what you like. They make a 289 car, and it doesn't sell; they have said that exact thing.
Thanks for the update as there's nothing on the Factory Five website. FYI, I think his last name is Schenck.
I realized after the edit that his name is pronounced closer to "Skenk' than it is "Schneck". Unfortunately thats one thing thats impossible to dub without pulling the entire video and reupping. Not a perfect dude, so Ill let my mistakes live on.
Cup Holders? Who The hell would would care about cup holders! The car was meant to Drive not sit at Sonic sipping beverages! Ha Ha!
At 6’2” was always the reason I held off plus as a passenger I hated them. Hopefully this gives me a green light
If you're familiar with "The Traveling Builder", hes a big dude. 6'5", 300lb+. Says he fits very comfortably in the new roadster because of the added size and lower seating position. Dave Smith mentioned on his latest podcast that he actually needed the seat on tracks to be seated high enough. This should be the answer you've been waiting for.
I think there is a market for other unubtanium replicas. Old Farari replicas, Mk2 Escorts, RS2000, old Volvos. There are a lot of old chassis that are used for rally and are becoming harder to find.
Pontiac’s Solstice would be nice!
Please release a new kit based on a 986 Boxster, it’s likely at maximum depreciation and would be a great base for a new kit. They are easy to find and quite affordable. Love the company!
But will it fit a Barra?
Fantastic, glad the new design has the 4 cam 5.0 and 7.3 engines accounted for
Looks to me the passages side side pipe has issue 😢
Reviewing the PN video, it looks like the mounts for the exhaust were not fitted. I wouldnt look much into that issue since this is a prototype vehicle and the first one ever produced.
Looks like Triumph Spitfire big brother, which is great, one of best looking cars ever...
