It takes Lotus a 2-3 years to bring their quality up to speed when they introduce a new model. If you had bought a 2023 or newer, you would be much happier.

I know a guy that just bought a Lotus and the engine blew up when the dealership was test driving it.

Lotus is definitely a car for a shade tree mechanic who doesn’t mind tinkering so they can track it on the weekend. Also, it should have been a manual.

It's annoying af, whenever someone calls a brand new car their dream car. What a heck of a way to say that you have no personality. A dream car is something that someone grew up wanting or couldn't afford in their younger days. A brand new car is only a dream car until the next car.

The more I watch these Lotus reviews, the more I am thinking to go the Porsche route. Love the brand, but my closest dealer is 300 miles away, so I could not risk warranty issues.

I heard a quote from somewhere saying that Lotus are really good at tuning performance vehicles, but suck at making cars.

Just like doctors they want to treat the symptoms and not the underlying issues. Pretty pathetic but guarantees business. I’m thinking you have a faulty wiring harness that keeps taking out the same parts. The clues are there but no one cares.

Wow, that is shocking, I have a 21 Evora GT and 24 Emira, and both are problem free. I also had an Elise for 14 years that was problem free.

They are called LOTUS for a reason, Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious, the legend lives on, the only good thing in it is the engine which is Toyota, the supercharger is not Toyota

Hey Dylan- I do custom ceramic coatings, ppf and paint correction work in Texas. I can verify that everything you pointed out is not out of bounds for EVERY Tesla I do. I already know I will be wetsanding on every panel- I just accept it and charge accordingly. The other true constant on every Tesla is the paint depth is insanely inaccurate, even within a 6 inch area it can go from razor thin to way too thick🤷. People really kinda forget that the big name car makers have been painting cars for a long long time and still make mistakes(looking at you ford/chevy) and Stellantis is laughable quality as well. In the overall spectrum, Tesla is still figuring this out but over the last 3 years I have seen improvement. Not making excuses for Tesla here, just letting you know it’s not uncommon and more importantly - they really won’t be able to fix it to a proper degree.
