Totally cool dudes. Cowabunga. I’ve surfed, dove and hook & line fished the peninsula and this is a great perspective of some of the best of So Cal……………
I lived in the house on the corner of Paseo Del Mar and Oakley Road, right across the street from Lunada Bay from 1958 to 1979. I remember when the Dominator struck the rocks. I was only 6 then, a lot of excitement out there one night. Yes, the ship remained there for many years. A few divers lost their lives searching the wreckage years after the crash. It would get foggy and there was a fog horn that would blow at night but it was not located nearby. Eventually the sea claimed the ship. Went to Marineland many times as a kid. It is gone now and Trump has his golf place there. Went to Lunada Bay Elementary School, Margate, and graduated from PVHS in 1974 with two of the Hatano kids who lived and farmed the land across from where Marineland was located. So many beautiful sunsets, memories of climbing down the cliff barefoot, going to Rat Beach, hanging out at Malaga Cove Plaza, etc. It was a beautiful, very safe childhood there at the time, very quiet, nice people. A friend of my cousin's now owns our old house. My dad bought it in 1958 for $50,000. It is worth many millions now, but that's a lifetime ago as I'm getting up there in years. Thank you very much for this wonderful video of my old stomping ground. We attended the Neighborhood Church and my sister married at the Glass Church, which is now not really there anymore due to the land sliding in Portuguese Bend. Fun horse shows in Portuguese Bend too. It was an ideal life when California had less than half the population. Redondo, Torrance, Hermosa, Manhattan Beach where our friends built one of the first houses on the Strand. Lots of memories.
wish your audio was better.
We did this during covid and we all had covid mask on. It didn't help the sound quality. We are all muffled.
@@danmullin Oh ! Glad you are all doing well now. : = }}
I've lived here all my life and I never knew that it looked like that, (from the other side)? Thank you for sharing this. This was a wonderful tour! I've had the swordfish at Trump National Golf Club several times and it's delicious! Their desserts are the best part!
I enjoyed the video but was disappointed you cut out the last leg. The Peninsula ends at Point Fermin, not Trump Golf Course.
My intention was to make one from the end of Trumps to the Vincent Thomas bridge to complete the Peninsula. I have the footage but haven’t done the commentary. Here is the link. ruclips.net/video/iW7Gb3F9ODc/видео.htmlsi=gianf3m1Z9ABmvhH It’s still in private mode so you have to have link to watch. Let me know your thoughts.
This was when they thought the ground was moving slow....little did they know.
Is this before it started landsliding ?
The slide is an ancient slide. This is before the heavy rains that escalated the slide(s) two years ago.
@@danmullin We had heavier rains in the 90's and 2004/2005, No issues back then?

wow thank you
would love to see a video of same place today 9/2024
As a kid, I used to pedal my bike to Flat Rock with a handlebar Wire basket on the front and bring back Opal Eye perch and Sculpins, Sea Urchins and Anenomes in a covered bucket for my homemade Salt Water tank. 1965-ish i suppose.
Currently at ETS. Beautiful ship. I'm one of the first to see it here 👏👏👏
They are getting warmed up for SLC 34 and Los Angeles 2028. Practice makes perfect.

It’s the Jim Nadeau from Torrance via Worcester Mass.
If you don’t mind me asking, about how much do you guys get paid
Live in Portuguese bend during 77to 80 and more . Good friends and a nice California countryside
Portuguese Bend is such a wonderful place.
@@danmullin i grew up there - Portuguese Bend until I was 11, then "upper" Abalone Cove until I was 18. So different now.

But what if I want to ski? Very entertaining, not sure how it ended up in my feed but I now know why the beach cam is no more.
Yea. We sold the pad but still live in Redondo Beach near Torrance Beach parking lot and we have a house in Salt Lake City. Sorry about the beach cam 😂. I miss it. Thanks for watching however it go to you.
Omg!! You’re the best!!! Thank you!
I know. 😂
Nice vid! I really like that you take the fireball shot. I don’t want too!

Any time!
1 - don't know 2 - don't know but i think by the lyrics it is bad religion (cuz its literally the name of the band in the song) 3 - bad brains banned in d.c. 4 - circle jerks wasted 5 - dead kennedys cali über alles 6 - dunno 7 - i thought its holiday in cambodia firstly because of the bass, but then realised that this is smthng else 8 - sounds familiar but still can't remember overall: well, i might be a poser, but at least i didn't used shazam or other sources and tried to do my best. cool quiz, i want next part, gimme some more❤

Sun rise or sun set ??? Are you on your way TO a show ? OR Are you still awake from the shrooms you did AT the show ? Either way I hope it was a good show.😊
Sunset. I was driving home from a day of skiing and saw this train which made me think of the Dead and all their train references. Both Neal Cassady and Jack Kerouac both worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. This may be why there are so many train references by the Grateful Dead.
South
If that's sunset,....southbound.
Casey Jones 😊
It has to be southbound. If you have been sking then this sun is setting making it west. GDF~NFA (~}';=[]
Nailed it!
nope, southbound
It doesn't get much better, brother Jerry. Ive always wanted to be that headlight.
Sunsetting in the West, I'd say SouthBound, like Ten hundred pounds of steel out of control
Correct on direction and I almost used Tons of Steel as the musical interlude. There were so many choices.

It was good to see your footage. I grew up in an area on the other side of the hill in Westfield. In the summer of 1977, I lived on Sacreds. 9 months we lived there. It was the best time of my life. Thank you. It was nice to reminisce. And, yes, Smugglers Cove (where Sacred Beach is located) was frequently used to bring in bootleg back in the 20's and 30's.
Cool. I had quite a few friends from Miraleste High that that in Westfield. Nice area.
I expect nothing less from the 2nd most master race (planes > helicopters)
Ha, like anyone in North America is bright enough to understand the off side rule.
I get it but fr bro ?
Ha! You were standing behind me when you shot this - got any more?
I'd like to know as well. Lawl.
