oh and SIGIL 2, almost forgot... don't think twice about it, play as soon as you can... make sure to use Reshade+Vulkan to have an even more satisfying experience... I was disappointed with Sigil 1, it's not exactly bad but the maps felt so cramped... and then Sigil 2 totally blew my mind, I even played it some 3 times in a row, the maps are solid

just don't do Sigil on the hardest difficulty like most of the stupid idiot youtubers (ouch) You'll end up hating it and it will be a terrible first impression... it's designed to be played more than once with (surprises)

FUCK them... FUCK them all... I've seen this kind of crap happening in "lower" field positions or construction sites, but I never expected to see such nightmare scenarios inside an office job, there's nowhere to run anymore, it's just the zombie apocalypse wherever you go, NPC Apocalypse

another cool game from back then was Shattered Steel (there is Windows version but I think the DOS version might be easier to run...) From Bioware before they made Baldur's Gate and became huge

I was trying to remember what game it is from this Demo I tried to play back then, I'm sure it was not Delta Foce because I had the demo for DF1 and it could run just fine on my older PC... this Demo I'm talking about required GPU to run and I just remember something to do with the words "Desert Eagle", I'm not sure if it's the gun used in the demo or if that was the name of the game, I also remember the weapon being very shiny with reflections 🤣🤣if anyone knows what game it is, it's driving me mad 🤣from around that era, maybe 2000 or maybe 2001 game

but yeah cool stuff DF1... you have to understand that this thing was a Tech marvel at the time and it had the advantage of running on any older PC's that people had in their homes (usually office computers nothing fancy) So yeah in 1998 this felt mindblowing to experience, exploring these huge environments for the 1st time and seeing it all run at stable 30 FPS

(about g zddom) The thing with remaking this in g zdoom is that the Doom engine is built around the feature of everything being visible on the screen, there's no limit to Draw Distance... so wide open maps like these I don't know if they would ever be possible in that engine... and g zdoom has POOR support for voxels since it converts all of them to individual 3D cubes so that burns through CPU cycles

no, no game previous to this had Prone mechanic... I'm telling ya dude this game was so far ahead of anything else back then, it really made an impact on anyone that ever seen it for the 1st time at the time, even the small Demo

also, the Steam Deck is... weird... never touched one so I would have to try it first, but it's like it has no point to exist, my laptop does anything I want, pretty portable (crappy battery life courtesy of AMD shitty company) Trackpads for mouse on both sides look nice, I would need to test them, in my older laptop the Trackpad was so good that I was able to play shooters on it no problem, so I don't have anything against trackpads really

the problem with the Steam Deck (it also has battery life handicapped by crappy AMD chips) is that people have been finding that the Windows competitor ROG Ally (and its clones) basically does a better job than the Steam Deck on most regards, and has more compatibility because it is powered by Windows, so no Linux random annoyances

another problem with the Steam Deck recently you can find posts of several people (and youtube comments) complaining about the random Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity issues on the Steam Deck (this time courtesy of Linux, I used Linux it so I know it's their fault) So it's like it defeats its entire purpose, because people can't connect their BT mouse or earphones

the ROG Ally has been reported to have enhanced Wifi reception signal compared to the Steam Deck and zero BT connectivity issues (Windows just works) So yeah, Steam Deck overpriced pile of garbage pretty much... A gaming Laptop is still a better choice above them all
