graduated from IIUM in KL in the nineties and most of my friends were Indonesians , they wre committed and very dedicated excellent students . i loved them and being from south africa of Cape Malay stock I felt a natural affinity to them and they to me , since our forfathers in 17th and 18th centiry came from what is today Indonesia and Malaysia fom the Sultanates of Makassar, Mataram. Banten , Buton, the malukus , Medan, Jambi, Bengkulu . I hope tp see this institution become an excellent and referent islamic one , that exudes moderation and leave behind the fanaticsm of arabian and south asian world yet not become a pawn of western islam

As graduated from IIU-Malaysia in 1991 I put highly hope this IIIU guided by Pa JK will become as the center of Islamic knowledges as well as sciences in the planet
