Around $200 to $250 the lowest.
I have two large vases like these. They aren't worth much because they were mass produced in Satsuma for the western market late 19th century. Regarded as poor quality. I love mine - they are fascinating, telling great stories, intricate.
It's beautiful ❤
@@DawnDacus thanks, buddy! I thought so too! On its way to a new home now though. Haha
@besticanaffordantiques2565 great, I love seeing fellow resellers do well
Bonjour, je suis nouveau dans ce groupe et j'ai une très belle pièce satsuma pour les intéressés que je souhaite vendre
SATIN GLASS🎉
Pretty effing rad 😂😂😂
Hahahaha
Lol
I have a basic question as a recent newbie hobby of looking at antiques and vintage items in antique markets. I’ve been browsing around for a few months and I find the hunt to be very satisfying and rewarding. Even if I don’t find a piece that I’m interested in, I enjoy seeing what many different vendors have to offer. I have been an artist and an art enthusiast for most of my life, going to art auctions with my parents around the world, primarily in the islands of the Caribbean. Anyway, I’m interested in Imari Rose Medallion type pieces for their aesthetic beauty and not necessarily for their authenticity. However, I’m curious about what you guys think I should do to start a collection of Imari Rose pieces. Thanks❤
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the term. Imari Rose?
How to contact you?
I collect things I enjoy, none of it junk to me, and that's all that matters.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Hahahaha, alright. Make a better video than mine. Shouldn't be too hard. 🤷
How
It’s beautiful even if you don’t don’t tell me that…
Tell you that you have beautiful glass?! hahaha
This was an interesting video but I couldn't handle the constant music
Okay.
@@besticanaffordantiques2565 I'm hard of hearing so find music distracting 🥰
@@crochetingaroundnewzealand Ah, I see. Quieter next time then. 🙂

Yeah, me too. Interesting how the mad pianist can play in the dark though...
Needed this video this morning! Thank you! Also ... appreciate that you get to the point, provide great info ... all in under 2 minutes ;-)
I'm super happy someone needed it! ❤️❤️❤️
Why are u doing a video on identifying swung vases when ur not even sure the first vase u showed was even swung?? Who'd believe anything u say from that point on! Smh lmao
You should make a video that's better than mine. 🙂
Hahahaha, lookit you. So proud of yourself for doing nothing. Adorable. ❤️
American Idol here you come!
what do you think of this vase below?
I have one of this
It's pronounced..KLWOI ZONNÈ
Hahaha, I will literally never do that.
After the wires are glued in place, glue is then often spread inside the wire shapes..glass powder then adheres to tht glue before firing.. I used to make jewellry
Oooohhhhh, it never occurred to me that the enamel powder would also be adhered! thank you!
Or powder glass
Clever man…it is a very good approach.🖤🇨🇦
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the pair of smaller vases are authentic. the rest is a good example of buying without knowledge and how to end up with a room full of worthless stuff..... you ask if we think the ginger vases would make 300 at liveauctioneers? honestly doubt anybody would even make a bid on a piece that has a hole drilled, lid missing and the rim completely replaced.
That's pretty fair. Then again, it's a marked Kinkozan piece. I'd mention that all of these pieces are certainly authentic Japanese, antique, Satsuma style ceramics. Though likely some of the small vases were made in Kyoto, in the Satsuma style. This is a really good example of speaking without knowledge, and how to end up with a room full of things that are worth exactly what you paid for them.
@besticanaffordantiques2565 even on the video its obvious the colors are not right on the larger "satsumas" the smaller pieces are better but if you think they arent right either..... the kinkosan would be vetted off immediately. I have a large collection of satsuma. You have a long way to go and a lot still to learn. All the pieces are japanese. You got that right. Well done
@@xikimunki735 Friend. I'm not sure what you're on about. I'm telling you, in public, what these things are. Doubt me at your own detriment. If I say something is Kinkozan it's because I've verified it. Have you seen how many videos I have that list and detail makers of things from all over the world? In regards to the four Satsuma vases, as an example, they are all signed, the artists have been researched and verified. Please. Stop talking.
i love the caption commentary
Thank you! All of our profits go to paying that guy.
Thrift stores are so poor people can get nice stuff cheap. This stops poor people from getting nice things so you can pad your bank account. Thumbs down do not recommend.
Or, and hear me out here, I'm a notoriously poor person, trying to have anything in my bank account. plus I'm trying to teach my fellow poors everything I know about doing this. add to that the fact that if something doesn't sell at a thrift store or garage sale, fair chance it'll end up in a dumpster or on a curb. I save art and history from uncaring hands. you can take that thumb, and gently insert it in yourself. 🙂

Very fun item
I think this sold for $300? 🤔
Love the blue victorian
I have mud men from the late 40s. My dad bought them for my mom. I have them packed away. They are much smaller than yours
Many of the earlier ones were smaller. But they also just made some smaller ones. Haha
Fabulous ❤❤❤
Original RS Prussia marks contain a period (.) after the A, and the P on Prussia overhangs a tiny bit on the top left side of the P. Also, the leaves in the wreath have a red undertone, which can turn brownish under the green color.
Are you in the RS Prussia Facebook group? I'm sure you'd like it there! haha
@@besticanaffordantiques2565 No. I guess I should check it out. Thanks!
Salut j'ai les mêmes vase originale
I'm afraid that's all French to me. haha
Very nice
Thanks, friend!
Now that is a stunning collection…like they are all made of crushed jewels.🖤🇨🇦
Sort of like that! enamel is just melted down glass and various minerals , basically. so if it can be a color or effect produced in glass or minerals, it could've likely been reproduced as cloisonné!
@@besticanaffordantiques2565 Yes, as a jeweller, I have done several styles of enamel work. I know how finicky cloisonné can be, and undertaking something on that scale seems like madness lol.🖤🇨🇦
Those are beautiful
Thanks! They're our favorite things. ❤️
Oooo, i want them all lol
Hahahaha, same!
where are you selling
mostly just my Facebook (BestICanAfford Antiques), but I should warn you, I don't sell this type of thing.
No uranium?
The compote is uranium! haha, I probably sold it though, in fairness.
I was always told if your milk glass glows the nice bright orange that it was an older piece of glass. Can you confirm?
I can't say that's always true, because some companies, like Boyd, made a fair few colors of opalescent glass. But TYPICALLY, that's fairly true. Seems like milk glass ended up being favored for manufacture, likely because of lower production cost.
But I like your pickle. Things are slow in the South. But you box is almost full.
Hahahaha, what box?! I don't need a box! hahaha
I think it’s really cool what you are doing
Well I very much appreciate hearing that. ❤️
The Williamstown, WVa pieces are made of Fenton molds after Fenton closed in 2011. Actually made in Ohio but sold in WVa 😊
The very first vase you showed that's completely solid white with yellow handles is Victorian Custard Glass, Stevens & Williams I believe on that one. 1880's definitely 🤙
Ah, I was pretty certain it was Czech, but places like England and Boston seem to have made a fair bit of glass in similar styles. Every time I learn something I realize I have to learn something else. 😭 Hahaha
@@besticanaffordantiques2565 the struggle is real. 😂
@@yourtap hahahaha
That is cool…the mushroom and pickle are splendid. The Fenton kitty is lovely. I have an artist blown oil lamp glazed with Mount St. Helen’s ash creating a rainbow/carnival glass finish. Pretty cool stuff.🖤🇨🇦
oh! I've had paperweights that had Mt St helens ash used to make the iridescence !
@@besticanaffordantiques2565 They are lovely, my lamp is a cobalt blue teardrop with beautiful iridescence.🖤🇨🇦
I've never seen this! Nice to see the back story!
Yeah, we had just started buying some glass. Maybe a year or so in. Then this place happened. 🤷
I like pickles... :0)
You're in the right place.
I give, what's with the powder?
Did I show a piece covered in baby powder? Haha, we got very lucky a while back and got to buy everything inside of a hoarder house for $3,000. Two years later we still have boxes of glass from there. Not poking fun at all, but the fella had completely lost his mind. He kept every glass item in his home covered in baby powder so he would "know if the robots and little green men were touching his things while he was gone." A quote from the family. 😬
@besticanaffordantiques2565 I just found your channel and am going through the videos but I was too impatient to find out what the reference meant. 😁 Thanks!
@@beefmalone Hahaha, no problem, buddy. In my older videos there is at least one small tour of the hoarder house. Complete honesty, it was crazy.
I have one in blue and green, can you please give me a price
dependent on several things. I would look up sold prices on eBay.
Love your collection!
Thank you, friend!
