Monique is making things up or exaggerating. Ambulances don't wait hours to get patients into the ER. The waiting area can be too full but each person is seen and evaluated for how quickly they need to be seen. Those patients are often the first ones seen and promptly. And housing.... homes and apartments are being built in Eugene and Springfield in many places. We need more but it isn't remotely true there is no housing being built. I drive by a number of them.

Lisa Warnes' only campaign message seems to be that she doesn't know what to do about anything but she doesn't like that Matt Keating seems ambitious because he knows all of the issues very well and has been working on them tirelessly and successfully.

A good rule of thumb is to always vote against anybody endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce if you don't want a corrupt politician who shills for the rich. Therefore, don't vote for Ethan Clevenger.

You're only as safe as you are vigilant when it comes to civil liberties. The reason we're in the mess we're in is that blue voters historically don't stay engaged. For decades, we barely turned out to vote and didn't take our opponents seriously. We considered reproductive rights a done deal since Roe made legal abortion a fixed constant of the universe for all time. We haven't stayed engaged and vigilant on LGBT rights since Obergefell, since we assume that was done once and for all.

Absolutely not. Nuclear power is not safe and has never been. You can look to the Trojan nuclear power plant for the most local failure of nuclear power in the state. It was a disaster as it was not competitive with hydropower, was rife with poor construction, and still has spent nuclear fuel rods stored at the facility due to there not being anywhere to take them. Trojan was also build on a fault line near the Columbia river. It is still at risk for failing due to an earthquake and spilling it's radioactive waste into the river, thus contaminating the river water. These types of power plants are extremely dangerous for the goals that they commissioned to accomplish. Instead, we need to make our homes extremely energy efficient. Natural gas, coal, nuclear, and biomass power generation are not needed as there are alternatives that are more viable in our state. Hydro is the best, if we can build more, we should. You can look to Costa Rica and other countries that have become or are nearly carbon neutral for ideas. Our future is too important to risk it on old power generation ideas with different names like small module reactors (SMR) or advanced small module reactors (ASMR). They are same thing they pedaled years ago and they are dangerous as ever.
