I love this series....one thing that's always bugged me though.....yes Naofomi (sp?) had some horrible shit happen to him after being torn from his life and home....but Raphtalia had it even worse...to be honest while I think they both need each other, she's stronger than he is. He got her out of her ( justified! ) funk and depression after all the messed up shit that happened to her....but she's a fairly happy person despite that. He had far less happen to him and he's still a bitter asshole for most of the anime series.
Different people just get over their tragedies differently. It is in his nature (in my opinion) to be a byt "grumpy". But he is still a good person. I think he is a very realistic character, you can see in him, that someone can have a good heart, but not look cheerful all the time.
She was a kid when he found her, and she had equal parts good and bad. Parts of the country also view demi-humans as less than human, so she would be used to poor treatment. But she grew up with him and had only good. Meanwhile, he was framed for rape and everyone hated him. He had to fight for everything, even just selling scraps at the beginning to get by. He's a bitter asshole specifically because EVERYONE was out to get him. He had to be that way just to survive, because anyone could betray him. Everyone working for the king turned on him, the other heroes turned on him, people even offered to join his party just to rob him. He had nothing until he realized Raphtalia didn't betray him.
@@kingsalmon2315 Good observation. You really know what to look for and what words to say...or write.
It’s not fair to compare trauma, especially considering that they’re two completely different people who were put through two different kinds of hell. Naofumi certainly didn’t handle his situation as well as Raphtalia did.
Victims of trauma like Raphtalia can wear a smile and mask their hurt to the rest of the world. Especially when they don't feel safe enough to allow themselves to be open about their pain. Such as well... the literal end of the world occurring around them. However, no one, not even someone that remarkably strong can keep it up forever. Naofomi is in a way being healthier by showing his feelings on the surface, given the apparent literal demon inside of him. Fair to say that they'd be lost without each other though.

Glad to hear it, I mostly rewatch whole season of anime while making AMV and I think I'll rewatch demon slayer for this reason soon. I hope the new one turns out as good as this one.
@@johndarcos2980 I've thought about trying to get into making amv's but I don't know much about editing
@@gameking4218 You should definitely try it. You just need some software for video editing. I use shotcut, it is simple and free. Then you just need a bit of patience to get the hang of it. And to give you a tip, start by making AMV only from several episodes of anime, it's much easier to get your hands of videos in consistent quality.
