Doe Weekend 2024: Swamp Hunt

What made this hunt special was how far back in the swamp I was. I love exploring new spots to hunt but honestly I always wonder "can I get a deer out of here alone?" Well even though my buddy showed up there was no doubt I can and will again.

no idea what venison or ribeye tastes like but id eat
@@CakeMaster47 you've never had a beef ribeye steak? Where u from

@@CakeMaster47 I bet you know about them gator bites then eh? Get yourself some ribeye steaks my man... Closest thing to heaven on a plate.
@@kevingaare719 Sounds delicious Ill make sure to try those when I can!
What cut of venison is that?
@@kevingaare719 thats a bottom round cut. Off the back ham.
@navigatethewild ok that's what I thought. That's good jerky meat! Not my favorite for steaks personally
@ if you tenderize it first man its good!
Hello, thank you very much for answering!! I know you have lived with that disease, I saw it in your videos!! That's why I tell you that I'm very happy that everything is going well!! you have a beautiful family!! I don't hunt, rather I fish, here there are deer and wild boar, I am a nature lover and I love backpacks, pouch, I am very excited about the Kifaru shape charge, the price stops me 🥲🤦♂️, also, the shipping From Miami (where I consolidate my purchases) to my country, it costs another 100 dollars, one question, haven't you tried heating the clips and closing them? a little more?, do you have instagram or email? affectionate greetings from the other side of the world 👍💪💪🙋♂️
Hello, I greet you from the other side of the world, from Uruguay, South America, I have been watching many of your videos and I have enjoyed them a lot, I was very excited about your Shape Charge backpack and the Sherman bag, are you still happy with that configuration? Is it worth the fortune it costs? Is your team color ranger green? Well, I send you a very cordial greeting, I am very happy that you have overcome the health problems that you overcame!!!! In which part of Florida do you live? I ask you because I usually go to Miami, I am using Google Translate to write to you, there may be errors, greetings again, Santiago Mindel.
Santiago! Thanks so much for the message. Couple things, i love the shape charge. I’m not looking to change for a while especially because of the price😂. If I had to be picky about something it would be the clips it comes with. They have many was to configure the pack but the buckles are open so you can move them around. All thats great but you do lose them from time to time. I lost one last night! To be fair Kifaru sends extras with the purchase which is great and you can purchase more on the web site. Florida I’m 7 hours north of Miami on the east coast of florida. Always working on my health. I’m actually a cancer survivor. What do you primarily hunt where you live?
What kind of climber is that
@@smiley454jmw this is an older climber called an equalizer. You can find the model at buckshotmfg.com. My hunting mentor gave it to me before I started saddle hunting. I have been offered big money for it 😂i can’t let it go. You can level it while your in it and its the safest I have ever found climbing and sitting in. Not to mention comfy!
That shi is raw my friend
I’m pretty sure that is a stainless pan
@@ironfistvail cast iron my friend. Happy thanksgiving!
It's a multi-layered cast iron that still has aluminum in the center and a built on handle with rivets that eventually will fail so it's a cheaper cast iron alternative.
Cast iron is one piece hints cast iron. the iron is poured into a mold with sand called a casting. you are thinking carbon steel trust me that’s not a cast iron pan. also @hellabella you can’t mix aluminum and iron together lol so it’s a carbon steel pan
@@navigatethewildcarbon steel

Why 3/16th over 1/4? And does it feel safe?
@@AidanOstrowski since that video went up I upgraded my rope to a USA - Ultimate Stick Attachment made by the theamsteelguyy. You can find him on etsy. That attachment method is amazing. I love it, its easy to use and I feel super safe on it. The hangfree co was good just not the best I found. The amsteel guyy method in my opinion is the best. I will never do anything else. I also posted a video on it called “good, better, best attachment methods” check that video out to see. Thanks for reaching out! Navigate the Wild!

LMNT is under fire for hiding that their packets contain over 400mg of maltrodextrin. If anyone knows if this is true for the cans let me know.
@@jmast1 so I reached out to them to confirm. What I was told was that the unflavored and the cans do not contain that additive. Than Ken Barry did an interview with rob wolf one of the founders of lmnt and they spoke about it for over an hour. You can find that talk on youtube. I was pretty upset. They told me they are working on correcting the issue and I told them thats a great first step but they lied to consumers and for people that are on the road to becoming metabolic healthy this is a major issue. In the summer in florida I might have 5 a day! They gave me the receipt to make it at home, said I could get a refund, or exchange for the unflavored option. That they are working on correcting the issue. Hope this helps. But they were very responsive to me.
Shit yea good idea, I said to another guy. I wonder if you tie a good 12" circle rope, put in your carabiner and stick your gun thru that. but yours great idea too
Sod buster is one of my fav.
Hey brother. I enjoy your videos and I wish you all the success. I would like to give you some constructive criticism. I watch your video about your new watch review and this one. Both you waited too long to actually get the item out for everyone to see. I think your talking points are good just get the item out a lot earlier. Good luck in the future.
@@thenati2938 hey thanks for that input! I’m new at this and I will keep that in mind. Really appreciate your input and the way you approached it.

The first of many; dont worry, you'll get better at it. cheers🎉🎉🎉
beef or pork fat?
Beef.
great video, must he walk behind you with the gun pointed toward you tho... :D LOL
You can hook the hero clip using 2 loops and turn the hook perpendicular from the strap. It is more stable that way. You could have analyzed how to use these hooks in different way.😂
I've got that exact setup coming to me.
You will love it! I just was in georgia for 6 days. It was great having this pack. One of the biggest things about this pack is the versatility. Enjoy!
Still so beautiful. A bad day in the woods is still better than a good day at work. Lol
Beast Sticks are better
@@RKLIFE17 i will check them out. Thanks for the recommendation!
2020 version with the crappy 11 lb. drag. I speak from experience!
What frying pans are those your using? They look nice!
Those are two cast iron pans i got a long time ago from a kohls here in town. They did a deal with the food network. Very nice pans. I think they are 15yrs old.
The way I see it is that if we are tring to learn how and the what and then why about climbing a tree I will never try to learn how to saddle hunting from saddle hunters on safety and learning how to use equipment and so on maybe how they like certain hunting gear, I go to Arborist and Loggers as they are Professional. I think the guys are NY saddle hunting has info that they are Arborist and hunters. Thought me alot. So many ways to get up a tree. Good video and I mean absolutely no disrespect what so ever. I don't want to say that what your doing is wrong it's just there are safer, faster and easier ways. Cheers. Stay safe cause falling hurts bad.
@@traviscarter9182 thanks for the insight. Just to be clear, my stance has never been that I am a professional. I’m just a guy trying to learn as i go and I’m sharing stuff from that perspective towards new hunters and anglers that have the same curiosity as me. I’m not the best hunter, I didn’t grow up in the woods. I just wanted to start and this is my journey in doing that. I will check out your recommendations for sure. Navigate the Wild!
I got a Jerky gun from Aliexpress delivered for about $20 , is a plastic barrel and nozzles , rest is SS , it works well for the price
@@murray1white i just love having jerky at a good price. Who can afford jacks links at the cost it’s at?!
Exactly , looking for a recipe for lamb mince will make one up if I can't locate one, will definitely have heat with chili or similar@@navigatethewild
@@murray1white because I’m on such a clean diet I only use fresh herbs and redmonds real salt. I know its boring but I gotta watch because at 43 my gut doesn’t like all the additives anymore. My family of 5 can kill 20lbs of jerky in a few days no problem 😂
Being here in New Zealand it is easy to get quality produce fresh ,grass fed ,also have fresh herbs growing , just planted some chillis
Hunters need to start looking into SRT climbing method. With SRT I’m ALWAYS attached to the tree and I remain attached even when I set up my saddle tether. I also have a backup on every knot/mechanical device as well as a second bridge. At first I thought I was going to be too much gear and time but it’s become part of my procedure. Check out NY Saddle Hunter
Is it lightweight being titanium or does it have some weight to it? Love the look of it btw

on the regulator or the hose that connects to the propane tank, there's the metal pin or paperclip like thing on it. Are we supposed to take it off before we use the burners? It's my first time cooking with propane and I'm not sure if I should have it on or not
