▽ Garry Kasparov plays Shogi - 1999
Просмотров 10622 часа назад
An interview was held for Garry Kasparov in Tokyo, and after that the interviewer decided to teach him how to play Shogi. The interviewer almost got defeated by a man who had just learnt basics of Shogi on the same day. How Kasparov digested so quickly, and played like a normal player was mind-blowing. 【 Shogi strategies 】 Masuda style 4th file Rook in details
Просмотров 153Месяц назад
This decade-old strategy is an excellent counterplan against rapid attack, and still can be effective. Virtually, it stops any form of quick attack, and forces your opponents to change their plans. If you prefer slow games, this is going to be your best friend for sure. I didn't know he played shogi once. And then there are people like Hikaru, for whom shogi was too hard so he turned to chess 😄

Couldn't they let him start the game? Amazing - I knew he played Shogi in Japan, just didn't know he also learned it and the played right away.

1:58 On ABEMA TV (YT channel), the commentator gave another explanation of the pawn push in the post-game analysis. There was something about a bishop restriction (blocking the path 24-15-26) in a specific variation, but I'm sorry, I don't remember the details.

First example a little bit confusing since pawn drop doesn't defend against knight promotion on 57.
