This is the only time I have heard this album. I going to enjoy it as much as possible. Shame as the album is out of print and Wendy's website acknowledges it being out of print. All it says is "stay tuned"

I was there after my mate had hyped them up as the next big thing. I was a bit disappointed in them and never really 'got ' them til Green came out and I saw them at Manchester Apollo 17/3/89 supported by the Waterboys who'd released Fisherman's Blues a few months earlier

Was regretting that I didn't go when I saw this on the set list, my very favorite Neil song, but honestly now watching this version I don't regret it so much. This is far off from the best version of this.

I was at this gig, standing upstairs at the front of the gallery to the right of the stage. As I remember it, there were 2 power cuts and it took them 20 minutes or so to rectify the problem. After the second power cut, the band came back on, with Peter Buck towell-drying his hair. I didn't think that was very rock 'n' roll so I shouted down "stop drying your hair". Peter Buck looked up and said, " Fuck you, maaan". A moment I have treasured ever since 🤣

During that `1982 tour they almost always closed their sets with Skank. To my knowledge they never put it down in the studio, it was only played live in a concert setting and was originally just an improvised jam when they had a long set to play and were feeling experimental. But as it sounds here, you can hear there is some structure to it, and lyrics, which the song has began to solidify with. I really like it as a companion to Stumble. It would have been amazing to hearing both tracks side by side on Chronic Town. I mean, wow, if they had ended that EP with Stumble/ Skank like they did their concerts in '82- that would have been incredible.

I love how they extend out Stumble. The transition into Skank is seamless. It sounds like they are like two halves of the same song they fit so well together.

For folks who only casually know of REM from Losing My Religion and such... play them this to blow their minds.
