This engine was originally built with 11/1 compression and a .625 lift camshaft. It made great power but wasn't the best for a weekend cruiser. So to get more drivability I cut the compression to 10/1 and knocked about 20 degrees of duration and .035 lift from the camshaft. It only lost about 35 horsepower but gained a "TON" of drivability. All Aluminum 548 Big Block Chevy with N/A 1000 horsepower. Armen Maghdessian let us break in his engine on the dyno. It goes in he's 4 sec (1/8 mile) drag radial 57 Chevy. When the customer brought in his 351 Cleveland is was making less than 1 horsepower per cubic inch. I reworked the 4V cylinder heads, blue printed the bottom end, and installing a custom camshaft from Comp Cams.
