Can you do this with a hair dryer
My dad had one Nexus with a burning battery, and another with a weirder boot issue than this I don't understand why he got the same twice....

The trick works but only for 15-20 min after that its the same thing but during that time u can un lock the developer mode & enable OEM locking in the developer menu then there is a software trick i'm still on it will update if it worked untill then try to boot & unlock developer mode & OEM unlocking..
Is this a hair dryer or a heat gun? What temperature did you use?
Great video I had problems with boot loop on my Nexus 6p ,. This is an answer to fix it.. Also I suggest you get something to eat ..

I just used the hairdryer on the back of the nexus 5x for about 30 seconds right below the camera without taking it apart. It booted and I was able to allow bootloader unlocking in the developer settings. Thank you!

I used a hair dryer not a heat gun. The phone worked until it rebooted and then it still had the bootloop
I did this without opening the phone and it works! You might need to restart the process a few times since, whenever I stoped heating the phone up, the booting up failed. With patience and after a few tries it should work. In total, it took me about 10-15mins. Good luck!
Crazy but it works ye.... only when i put on the cover again it falls out and i can not even start up the phone anymore
My nexus 5 did this, and now my 5x. I just ordered a galaxy s7 edge. I'm officially done with these suicidal ass google phones

Unfortunately, it actually went back again on bootlooping, its only temporary when the board is heated and thats the only time I could go in. Sorry.
yea, just change the Mather board..u can buy creak or damage nexus 6p on Craigslist and change the mother board. u can got around $60-90 box.
Can i do this on nexus 5? plugged my phone on power source with 50% battery life remaining and wanted to use it after 1hr, phone did not turn on again. I just hope this solution for nexus 5x will work for my nexus 5
Tried this and now I can't even get the Google screen to appear...could I have damaged anything? I can't seem to get it to power on at all now. Could I be overlooking something?

It had a full battery when it bootlooped around 3:00 this afternoon. I plugged it in for about twenty minutes, and still nothing. I am going to heat it again.

tried it with a hair dryer couple of times, the phone managed to boot but died shortly. so i though of adding a tangled up aluminum foil between the MB and the metal cover to apply pressure on the connections and disperse heat and now it's working. hopefully this is permanent.
SuperMoeSherif we can get some reference cases from our ancestor: Galaxy Nexus. Google phones still have a serve issue of dealing with heats

Wagner Henriquez I am not guaranteed this will work on your 6x, huawei is the manufacturer and I don't know about their flaw on this phone production line. you can still try it. but I guess this has no luck shot like this 5x in the video. the 90%of Nexus problems is caused by software and system. rarely linked to the hardware level

so...... as it was running, i charged my phone (about 1 hr).... i turned it off, just to see if it would boot again......... and it doesn't. tried redoing the procedure. not working atm.

the boot-loop happens again. only the Google logo pops up. doesn't get pass that.
rarely does it reach the "circles" but it quickly freezes and reboots again

I applied heat for 40 seconds.. the phone works great for 5-10 minutes and than dies again, what are you suggesting? Will heating it for longer help it last longer?

I've seen videos, where applying a metal shim or heat sink with thermal paste will greatly reduce temperatures. anyone who owns a 5x should apply a heat sink, as the boot loop is only a matter of time on LG devices.
Soooooo....... i tried this without opening my phone (all you need to do is put the blow dryer right under the camera). keep your phone on while doing so. if you are doing it right, it would start working. I didn't change my operating system, so we will see how long it lasts

How much needs to be degrees Celsius? Hair dryer TurboStratos 3800 not much help :( Phone runs for a while and after a minute of two resets.

i asked cause i wanted to get one. 5g is coming out in the states next year. est to be 1200x faster. hope that info helps u save money on future phones.

Binoy J nope. do this method again and my suggestion is downgrade your 5X to 6.0.0 and lock your CPU clock to 430. it controls the heat. then your phone would last longer
how do you downgrade? i use a macbook and i have android file transfer, my nexus 5x is messed up after installng 7.0.1, i can get it on every 20 times of reboot

Julio García Domínguez I did not. Even though it worked it still would reboot every hour, so I bought a new phone.

Taylor Bell Is permanent fix. After that I never bootloop again I really recommend after the fix downgrade your system to 6.0.0. This version of system has lowest CPU load and doesn't make that much heat like 7.1.1. And if you know how to adjust the CPU clock, please turn on the CPU load limit to 430MHz. this is a heating caused bootloop problem.

Darryl Moering It's totally legit. I tried it on many electronics I suspect of having loose connections. It's actually a common procedure. Alot of people outside of Facebook use ovens as well. I commend your bravery on leaving Facebook. There's a big wide world out there for you. Just take it slowly because it can be rough for someone with a low IQ. Good Luck!
