You can rent them out, and off the top of my head I remember they were quite expensive. If you are in a big group, you can maybe think of splitting the cost, but there were plenty of shadow spots when I visited the island. Hi Dan, it's a pleasure to share some tips for your next trip to Ocean Cay. As I always try to not over expend in my trips I only used the free food options in the Island -and wasn’t bad at all-. The cruise crew recommended to use the Island for “Light Food” options and go to the Ship if you want something more specific or a specialty restaurant. Keep in mind there’s many amenities in the Island still under constructions and a second buffet is one of them -Opening Spring 2020-. For Free Food you can go to the complimentary buffet “Seakers Food Court”, which has great options (ruclips.net/video/l9UED5klzrw/видео.html) or the “Beach Shack” food trucks that you will find in different places through the Island. I personally had the Mahi Mahi at the buffet and loved it, but they also has very good Pork Ribs, Salads, Fruits, Dessert, etc… The buffet is not open all day, so check out the time before you arrive. On the other hand the Food Trucks are open all day 'and night' offering Free burgers and Hot Dogs, these are good, but nothing special. You may want to have dinner at the ship or try another place in the island. *** Some drink packages can be extended or are available in the island. Ask when you get to the cruise. Avoid Sunset Beach for now as you may still find rests of construction rocks in the sand -they need to work on this-… instead, go to South Beach, North Beach, Bimini Beach or Lighthouse Bay Beach (ruclips.net/video/gLLFuQ-5D8c/видео.html)... and don't forget your sun protector! They offer to rent umbrellas, beach chairs, etc. Don’t spend on this until you are at the island and you are 100% sure you really need one of them. There’s plenty of open spaces and you may want to move/walk around the island. They also have water activities (kayaks, Jet Ski Tour, Catamaran, etc). These are up to you. *** DO NOT MISS the Junkanoo Parade (ruclips.net/video/m4O9fYTrrNg/видео.html) and the Evening Lighthouse shows (ruclips.net/video/ehFvjX5g8FU/видео.html). *** If you go to the SPA at the Island ask for a promo credit to use later at the ship. *** Wi-Fi is available if you purchase an Internet Plan. Luxury Included Vacations thank you so much for the detailed reply. It does look like it’s still under construction and I’m a little disappointed it doesn’t look like the artist impression pictures, was there any compensation as it’s unfinished and parts still under construction?

Not that I know, but there is still a lot to do in the island. The only thing I was offered was the $30 SPA credit to use onboard. Around 6-7PM we went back to the cruise to shower and dinner and came back to Lighthouse Bay for the night shows. It was still a great experience, just don't expect the island to be at 100% completion.
