Thanks for posting...what section is this??
Canyon. I will put up Bends wood today unless the camera did not work.
ruclips.net/video/XyefGY7mWi0/видео.html wood from today in the Bends
@@Whitewaterwill Sick thanks! Just saw both new vids, looks like a pretty fun section! Much better wood report than the Canyon lol. This is on the NF Nook right?
@@judahharms Yes. NF Nook
I rode those rapids in a Raft 25 years ago.. It must be time for me to do it in a Kayak... Great vid... Thanks
Got out there out there on 9/28/24. Really is an underrated run, lots of fun! A few more rapids after the video ends. Not a lot video out there, so thanks for posting!
Excellent
Kind of looks lame but those are bigger waves in person
Big brass ones if you were really running that alone.
Yeah not like many people get out midday during the week.
@@Whitewaterwill I can. I’d say hit me up but I think you be in the PNW no?
@@ivanoutdoors up close to the Canadian border
What type of boat?
Cocaine converted to C-1
Nice! Always wondered how they paddle. Never saw anyone paddling a cocaine
Nice work
Epic!
Start at the fork where the brown/red trail crosses and heads into the 'cascades' according to the park map. Takeout near the chimneys.
There was a chest of gold on a small island near Sodergreen rd Forrest Fenn left it there in 2009. So close and yet to far too walk.
46 years ago my aunt drowned close to that spot and then 5 years later I caught some beautiful cut throat trout there ,my grandparents lived in the town of elk mountain,,very beautiful place, thanks for the video
Hi whats the put in and take out for this? Also early may?
I put in at the bridge on FS 100 right below the Medicine Bow Campground. If you want you can hike a short distance from the forest service road (FS 101 I think). The takeout is at the campground on FS 261 I used to drive up here from Laramie in May or the first of June. When you can get om Medicine Bow or Rock Creek depends on snow. I don’t just mean snowmelt but the roads are not great and easily get snowed out. Basically watch the gauge on Rock Creek in Arlington and when it spikes the melt started and a round this time the roads will start of open. Be super careful of wood in these runs since most only get run once a year or less by someone and I certainly don’t cur trees out of them anymore. All of the run info is on American Whitewater. www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/view/river-detail/5209/main
What was the flow at for this?
280 cfs
🤘 P-R-O-M-O-S-M.
What kind of squirt boat you got there? And why are you paddling a flooded golf course in the snow?
Acrobat and I have no good reason other than after a day of rain and then snow I felt like I had to get out on something.
I ran an upper stretch years ago. It looks like the work after the '13 flood has changed the bed.
It was pretty much tilted river bed but I didn't do it prior to 2013
You have names wrong or you didn't run cedar fall's
Oh no I did. Hiked in to above the park. Paddled down to the lake. Cedar Falls is the cover shot actually.
@@Whitewaterwill im not hating love what your doing the creek is labeled wrong on american whitewater too cedar falls is a little bigger its at the Northern part of the park put in is outside of the park you can't flow completely to the lake because there is a road in the way where the water goes thru tubes its a very good run with a good 5 foot ledge and cliffs on the side I live right up the road would love to run it with you
Run looks even better spring 2021, past the chimneys there are several rapids and a decent play wave at certain flows, no dangers
Good to know.
I never knew this run was there. My guess is there's no gauge to see when it's running. Any gauges nearby that could be used as an indicator? Where are you putting in at?
Looks like Ward loop, which one was this???
any updates after a few years? Also would be nice with put in and take out detailed location / hike route
Yeah check it out on American Whitewater along with most of the other OH rivers. www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/10561/
Great stuff man. I just got a decent little boat for ohio creeking. Not so much whitewater, and want to run ditches around here. Your pretty handy in that c1 setup!
Thanks. Well good luck getting the random ditches. There were still a few I never hit.
Great ride. Thanks for video. I always wondered what this would be like. You should have more views.
That's it?
Pretty much just one ledge on this run.
What kind of fish is in there??
Probably Chub, Carp, and Sunfish
Level?
350 I think
Awesome thanks!
wheres the fly rod?
What is a fly rod?
say thank you for the stuffs you have contributed here.
Awesome Vid. Need some background music (-;
Wow that's a long run.
Very cool. I'll take one.
Nice run Will.
Lived practically on the banks of this river for several years in the town of Ushihama. Never went kayaking but fished in it often. Good memories.
What kind of kayak are you using. I tried it today in a cheapy (larger) kayak and it sucked!
mattxr2i I'm in a XXX
Ok I need to give you more detail. Let's pretend I'm a noob. Actually don't pretend lol.
mattxr2i Well if the water level is less than around 3 feet don't get on the creek. I'd look at it at 4 feet to actually get good. You can get the gauge info at www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/10561/
Whitewaterwill Can you run this in a larger kayak at 4 ft? I am using my wife's Potomac Vortex 80. (I wouldn't try it in my fishing kayak. That much I know)
mattxr2i I would not do that. You Potomac Vortex 80 is a flatwater boat. At high water on holes you will get beaten down and might drown.
I live about 5 minutes from Grant Park. Can you continue past the chimneys?
Galaxus Yes. You can easily take out at the Nature Nook.
Sweet. Can you ride it to Great Miami?
Galaxus Probably but I don't think there are any rapids down there. Just the ones in the park.
Cool. Thanks, maybe I will try it after next weeks rain.
Yeah you can but it gets some trees and only a few small drops. I went further downstream once but it seemed less than worth it.
Dawn of War 2 and Bloodline.
