Yeah, that's true, but that battle was intense, so every second mattered. I guess it was more effective on lower-rank demons, as we saw during the Hashira meeting arc when Sanemi was testing Nezuko.

The entire point of the final battles was to showcase every second mattered and it required the coordination of the entire corps. It was never meant to be "sanemi was the reason they won" it was to demonstrate the lengths the members would go to finally topple muzans regime for the first time since the golden age. Murchiro would have likely been on an even playing field with kokoshibou if he lived to maturity but was purposely cut down at a young age to embody the idea of sacrifice for the greater good instead of the path upper moon 1 took which was to sacrifice for self gain. Every slayer that takes place in the final battle new not a single individual possessed the strength or talent to take on the upper moons alone. The point was doing everything they could to get someone more skilled a push in hopes they could get the strike that would end it. Sanemi knew he'd get bodied he even admitted it after kokoshibou opened up on him. Stating the only reason he evaded in any capacity was his battle reflexes. But for the second strongest demon bar none to say that it had any effect on him at all is a feat within its own right even if sanemi wasn't directly responsible for it. So yes he got bodied but so did everyone else including Kokoshibou in his own right.
