A no solder, built out of scrap wood Dipole that performed as well as any dipole that you can buy. A field-expedient temporary antenna build that just may come in handy when away from your workshop.

Take full advantage of the saltwater effect on your next portable outing. I explain how to setup your vertical to maximize the saltwater effect. Getting up against the the saltwater edge is the best way to take full advantage of the magic. Greg Lane N4KGL has done a nice presentation on the fact that just getting in the area of saltwater is not the same as on the edge. Go watch his video too. r...

It does not matter which side for the center conductor. You will find plans for the shield to go on either side. Ladder line and the J is to provide a 50 ohm match. I have done it both ways with no difference. Build it and enjoy. Will be a great antenna this fall on 10M. Steve - Ad4xt

I want to thank you for doing this gate and for making this video especially. I used this video as a guide to build this gate myself. I ordered a shed and my gate opening was too small so I built this. I got the gate from tractor supply, the hooks from lowes and wood from a local store. I cut a picket so the gate will swing both ways as well. I have a few pickets left and tomorrow after work it will be done since dinner was more tempting than finishing. Again, thank you so much for all the work that went into showing us this!

Another question. I hv a My Antennas,10-80 efhv, 130 feet, flat(@20 feet high). With my Icom 7300 and mfj-998, the wire works really well. I can even work 160, decently with low swr. Now, I have a ground wire coming off of the 49:1 to a grnd rod. Off of this, I hv multiple wires for a counterpoise( my experiment), which improves the low bsnds🥳. If if if, I put up, in the same configuration, their 9:1 with 173’ or 202’ wire efhw(these are their lengths available), would I see a sizable improvement on all bands or low bands, etc, vs my 130 49:1?? Just curious. Ps. With my amp and 400 watts, I really have a good signal. Thanku for the help n your input. Billy N1mrk
