My Mic Sounds Nice: The Truth About Women And Hip Hop
Просмотров 75 тыс.8 лет назад
Directed and Produced by Ava Duveray, an inside look on the women who made hip hop. I've been searching for this documentary for a minute, so I decided to upload it. Enjoy, discuss, subscribe. I own no rights to the video.
Look at my boy. So proud of you!!! It’s Ms. Boone btw.
Lil Bandzz music is the future of Hip Hop - period!!!!!
LOVEE the content sis! Keep it coming!
Bro that VIBE cover with Kim, Lauryn, Missy and Foxy… needs to check the contrast those colors aren’t right.
Bro said he turns to a demon off henny, wait till he meets an angel like me
Caught me off guard with that question
24:31 She absolutely NAILED it 👏🏽💯💐
what's the song at 6:33 ?
JJ Fad - Supersonic
Got em twice 0:32-4:19
The Game was at its best during the season 1-3 CW era with the original core 6 cast.
underground female MC's could be discovered through unreleased demos and/or the "go-to" distribution of mixtapes; Amateur Night/Opening Act segments on "It's Showtime at the Apollo" and/or "Soul Train." This doc is still dope & fresh ! Word... Full Force: UTFO (the Real Roxanne vs. Roxanne Shante) and of course, a 1980's Latin freestyle artist, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, who was straight outta, not Compton, but Hell's Kitchen, in New York. Sha-Rock : I was thinking about the Us Girls group from the classic breakin' (B-boy/B-girl) / graffiti artists / hip hop (or rap) New York-centric "Beat Street' film. J.J. Fad's "Supersonic" - That song was one of my favorite jams, back in the day. MC Lyte's real voice had to change when she was rapping; just like DMC (from Run DMC)...
3:20😊😊

Ladies First doc
Omg the funniest blooper Is the tias blooper with tt & Dionne BAHHAHHAA
None of these documentaries make any sense and are presented out of order with random journalists talking giving their opinions with little actual facts. It does the subject matter no justice as it is primarily a superficial treatment of something that should be in depth. You are talking over 40 years of history and they are condensing it down into 40 minutes which doesn't even make sense.
What happened to the Female MC after late 90’s? Answer: LGBT happened. They talk about it in the book Hiding in Hip-hop by Terrance Dean. From BICHASNIGUZ in the 90’s, to Down Low to No Homo in early 2000’s to Metrosexual in mid 2000’s to full out Homosexual. The Rap Industry got taken over by a Down Low Society of Dudes who had a sexual fantasy of experiencing their favorite hardcore Black Male wearing dresses, and engaging in sexual activity with them. And under that climate, the Music industry had no use or desire for a female MC.Homosexual males call Straight Black women “Tuna” or “Fish” and don’t like them. In turn, the White Jewish Corporations would only sign a Black woman if she talked super hyper sexual in order to promote a Black Caricature called the Sapphire and another one called the Jezebel. This is also why Ye outted the Jewish community.
0:35 Roxanne Shante.
Basically it's a 💤💤 till Nicki hits the scene...🥂🔥
Ps also it has alot to do with ego and fear some guys have against women owning her space be it at home / religious institutions eg church , mosque/ masjid and the workplace
I personally think it'd because of the way even post women rights attainment ,she / you girls / women struggle because the its both subtle and purposeful forces who don't want to see our women win
Facts these female hip hop icons knew it wasn't easy to be a top MC.Trust me each one went through something to get to next level.Lady Of Rage should've blown up at Death Row she was blackballed by Suge Knight.I like her bars on Affropuffs.MC Lyte,Latifah, roxanne shante,Sparky D,Salt and Pepa all deserve their flowers
Don't Forget out Foxy Brown, and Salt-n-Papa!
The first female rappers I first noticed were, The Real Roxanne & Roxanne Shante anyone else before that was before my time.
FOX F'N BOOGIE!
As long as a man keep his machoism away from me, I'm good.
Why did that man keep playing like that? That was not funny! Holly weird is always pushing homosxuality.
I was just about to comment the same thing until I seen your comment. Right on point. That's that Hollyweird shit
" But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds , ' declares the Lord - Jeremiah 30 : 17
Amen 💕 Whatever you're going through it's not over until God says its over.. You gotta Declare Everything attached to me wins.Don't give up on God , because He won't give up on you .
3:12😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
BET truly ruined what this cast had
What was the episode when tt and Melanie kissed
They didn’t kiss it was just a blooper
Derwin is mad smart...why u start laughing??? Boy was bout to drop a piano on your head
😂😂😂😂
Dude the last blooper had me laughing omg Malik was tramatized
I think BlackFemininity just summarized this documentary in her female rap video 😭
Which video?
👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
This right here proves that the show was so much more interesting as sitcom. It got way too dramatic, and the characters were watered-down. Still gonna watch the reboot and see how it is tho
They caught it ! #🎺🤪
Rage looks sexy as and MC Lyte you go girl u or rage can b my love goddess . But I'll settle for wife.
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Tia had a ball on the show lmao
😂
The game was good when tia and pooch where still there
this one was so much better than the one ABC just did. ABC didn't even mention The Sequence.
Foxy Brown
Lauryn hill left a demonic industry
The first female rapper was Sweet T...( Not the Sweet T from It's my beat )
You are right about that
This shit has me in tears and the best part is the show is just as funny if not funnier Like this was gold Pure gold Thank god for technology we can still watch the good ones lmao
Lol
😂😂😂
