But what if your window is stuck all the way to the bottom??? I can’t push it down any further. I have sprained my back so many times trying to rip this window out!! Ugh

Doing this also makes sure the sash lock engages. I can't tell you how many houses we inspect that are in the locked position but because the sashes rails are misaligned, these windows can still be opened. Not good security. It's like locking your front door without it being fully closed.
