Австралия
Добавлен 2 апр 2022
We are couple from Qld Australia who have started rebuilding a vintage 4x4 MAN truck. Our goal is to work and travel around Australia full-time. We plan to see Australia in all of it's glory with the ultimate truck and caravan set up for us. It's a lot of work but the reward of driving to see some of the most remote and beautiful places around Australia will be worth it.
What we have achieved in 12 months
What a massive year 2022 has been. We have reached many milestones and thought we would catch everyone up to speed on just where we are at in terms of being ready to travel Australia. We still have a long way to go but we hope you are enjoying the journey as much as we are.

It can't be all work and no play. Scott and I decided to catch up with the Big Oz Explorers at the Springs 4x4 Adventure Park. It was a great weekend meeting some likeminded people, driving some 4wd tracks and sharing some stories around the campfire.

Great job on your first recovery with your winch
Spot on again👍🏼👍🏼
Made me nauseous watching that bouncing picture....what some people regard as creative film making 🤢🤮
Hope you feel better soon 👍
Hey guys, love all the videos so far, excellent work!, how’s the MAN build going? I absolutely love MAN trucks and are currently building a MAN also, I also have a ex army 6x6 F1 Acco and a 4x4 mk3 ex army acco, love them all, im also Queensland and would love to catch up one day and talk all about MAN trucks, take care 😊
Hey CompoundTurbo, We have finally found someone that loves MAN trucks as much as we do and it sounds like it’s you. The build has slowed down a bit but we will have to pull our finger out and create some more videos. I think we could talk about trucks for hours and hours. How is your build coming along?
Oh god u had to do it! A bloody landy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You fellas are busy!
Thank you! We are getting closer every day. Hopefully we get the engine running this year.
Best when watched muted.
Best watched when using eyeballs? 😂
mateee did you cheat with the damper? by adding milk butter or an egg? i't amazing how much time can go into editing, luv the vid
Haha we should have added us eating the thing but we had no hands free while we ate it like a ravenous street cat at a fish market. I honestly don’t know how people put up a new vid every week. Maybe one day. Thanks for watching Jorrum.
You are on an interesting topic where you can produce contents that many people like me are curious about. If you can go into more technical details, I think you can get more followers. It's going to be a long journey and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you Serdar. We definitely agree. I think at the moment we are enjoying making the vids as a trip down memory lane. The more practice we get with making them the better we will get hopefully. Thanks for watching this one 👍
I love Janowen. Did anyone take on the rock face?
It’s a great place. One of our favourite 4WD parks. Do you know the name of the rock face?
@Lappin up oz no we just know it as the rock face. From where you guys were set up, it's closer to the middle of the park near the main water tanks. Also, that dual cab red mog. Do you have any info on the canopy? That's pretty much what I have in mind for my det up.
Anuncia el video como Unimog off-road y mete toda clase de vehiculos. ¿Esto de engañar, para que es? Para que visualicen muchas gentes el video y tu cobrar más.
Looks like a great time!!
It was a great weekend. Janowen is a great park to visit. Loads of tracks and nice camp spots 👍 the mogs just made it icing on the cake
Looks like a great weekend! They are such a beast of a vehicle 🤟🏼 can’t beat a few days out on tracks. Well done guys
Thanks guys! It was awesome to watch these massive beasts getting around. Very inspiring.
Your fade in shots are very distracting and a waste of time. Please don’t do it. Great shots otherwise.
Good to see my claim to shame is in there too 😂
What’s a 4x4 weekend without someone getting stuck on the side of a steep hill? Haha you didn’t stop driving all weekend 👏 very awesome truck you have there
Hahaha. Yeah, if anything it is good experience to gain. Got myself the recovery set now from Dan and ordered a winch. Next time I should be able to help myself 😊
@@kusanagi72 that’s the go. Unintentional try before you buy haha. You will be all set.
What tyres and rims are you running? Does this make the overall vehicle width greater than 2500mm?
@Baydon Fawcett Hey mate, it is 2400 wide, so same as tray. 445/65/22.5. Don't know the off set of the rims, but the bead and flange are in line so to say. Rims are near impossible to find, my spare tyres are on different rims and would make it just over 2500 wide if mounted on either side of the truck, not ideal/legal, but OK for spare.
We don't have those types diffs in us in trucks.. small pinion.. I assume can do that by using the planetary gear set out at the hubs.. ?? Wonder if it makes it alot stronger design
That’s right Brent the diff centre can afford to be smaller due to the planetry hubs taking the load. Still a substantial size centre. also gives good ground clearance. I know fellas that use these diffs full time on Frazer island here is Australia and they swear they never break and they are hauling big yachts, boats and removable homes up the beach all the time.
@@lappinupoz9353 .. yeah.i been looking.. some military trucks i believe have them. Some manufactures or aftermarket companies that do 4x4 and 6x6 trucks can put that style front diff.. depending on heavy duty operation i suppose..alot of loaders..heavy equipt has that style. I been looking at lot of Dakar Style race trucks.. i also look at off road expedition style trucks.. not many platforms easily or readily available in us for one..
When’s the big man’s capstone
That’s the mystery question. Good luck tomorrow 👍
Bloody legends 🤟🏼 well done! Really appreciate you guys coming along to such a great weekend. Was amazing to meet you guys! Love the mullet mode 😂
Haha let that mullet shine bright. We are keen for the next one. You guys did a fantastic job planning and running the weekend. Thanks guys!
Awesome guys. The voice overs are on point. Great content. 👍
Thanks guys. I feel like we learn a little bit more every time we do a video. Have you guys done a walk through of your van? Can you send us the link if you have? Pretty please
@@lappinupoz9353 haha thats our next video. Was hopi g to get away this weekend and do it. But family comitments with dad.
@@got2goexploring16 we look forward to watching that! We want to see the ladder in action. He is lucky to have you guys. I hope all goes well for him.
@@lappinupoz9353 the ladder is a custom touch by us its the only trail with 1
@@got2goexploring16 such a great idea. So much safer than standing on Scotts shoulders haha
Another awesome episode guys, keen to see the rig run down on the 80 sometime soon
That car has definitely seen some places. Thanks Novlueblue. It was a great weekend away.
It's been 10days I'm ready for more
Haha! More content coming soon. Thanks for the encouragement. Much needed sometimes 😁
Good first episode love the project not sure wat colour the chassis paint is but I like it .
Thank you! It has been one very big project but we are happy that we decided to share our progress thanks to the support of friends and family.
Yew!! Great job legends 🤟🏼 keep up the great work.
So who’s coming for a hot lap when she’s finally moving? Thanks legends!
@@lappinupoz9353 sign us up 👌🏼
This is awesome guys, well done can wait to keep watching it and maybe a sneaky catch up. By the way made it all the way to willowbank on that tyre haha then valve let go got over just in time haha. Was happy as with that.
Yes we are keen for another catch up. It was amazing meeting you guys! We’re excited to watch your journey. Haha that tyre has seen some things. Well done!
Let us know when. Will jump over and add yas and go from there. Such a down to earth couple. Bloody awesome
@@got2goexploring16 sounds like a good plan to me. Talk soon. Ps: we were just saying the same thing about you guys.
@@lappinupoz9353 yesssss.......! We fooled you bahahahahaha
Nice video once again :-) One little issue though. The level of sound is not the same through out the video. Music is OK, but when you lower that and add your own voices we can't hear what you guys are saying if we don't triple the volume level on our side 😔 in result when music comes back on it is very loud 🤣(hope the way I am explaining it makes sense 🤣)
Thanks so much for your feedback Marina. Haha we definitely don’t want to be blasting peoples ears off if they can’t hear the voiceover. We are using our iPhones to film so we will have to upgrade our microphone set up eventually. Thank you. Makes sense.
Nice
Thank you!
Good video big project, just hint look around for a pantech Luton peak ,as I just bought a small 4 m and to put on a small truck at least bed above cab just thought to save a $$$$ happy travels
Thanks so much Annette. The Luton peak does look great for space saving. We are going to tow a caravan behind the truck and will have to do a video explaining what the set up will look like. Thanks for watching.
It is 115 dollars because it was engineered to perfection by an 80 years old German guru that made his master's in quantum physics ;)
True that! I think our new Birthday present’s to each other will be MAN parts haha so romantic.
@@lappinupoz9353 if you're not married, now it's the time! You could also celebrate marriage - another reason to buy MAN parts ;)
@@bogdanhh this is so smart! “Omg a diff centre! How did you know?” Haha
If ever you need any parts or bits from S A I would love to help At least I could get them on a truck for you Moneys tite but I could at least Check them out Just saying 🇦🇺
Thanks for the offer we really appreciate that! We do find it very hard to find parts sometimes. We did order a axle from SA a few months back that would have been perfect. I know how you feel with the money side of things everything is so dear.
Dave from South Australia great effort If I was 20 years younger I drive up and help
Thanks Dave. Another set of hands never goes a stray. Unfortunately we can only pay people with bad jokes and beer. Thanks for watching our journey
Great work. The effort already put into bringing everything to this stage is huge. Those who done it before will know.
Thank you so much Razvan. Sometimes we forget just how much work and time has been poured into building this truck until we rewatch the footage. We have a long way to go but we have also come a long way. Thanks for your support
What horse power is the Volvo 🇦🇺
@@gizzmo667 about 220hp the Volvo it was in a 8 wheeler skip bin truck weighing in at 27ton so it should push the 4x4 along we will only weigh max 16ton. The old MAN was a 192hp but was turboed so hopefully it’s better than the old motor.
Hey mate. Just came across your channel - enjoyed watching first episode. Everything looks familiar - building an expedition truck myself on an Unimog 1700 platform. I just hope you are going to ditch one of the rear axles and shorten accordingly the chassis. You do not need the second axle as it will shake the whole think like hell (especially off-road), increase fuel consumption and complicate the the construction. Cheers, Raz
Hi Sharnie and Scott 👍
Hi Maxine 😄 thanks for subscribing! We have a new episode out for you. Enjoy.
Can’t wait to see more!
Thanks Jon! Haha you’re in luck because we should be rebuilding this old girl for a while. Thanks for your support.
Another channel to follow! Great work!
Thank you so much! We look forward to posting more content soon.
@@lappinupoz9353 I got you set to alert on new videos- look forward to it!!

Greetings from Australia! We are so glad that you can join us for the ride. It is one beautiful old truck and we are working hard to get back into one piece. Thanks for such a beautiful comment.
Interesting!
Thanks Jerry. I hope you’re enjoying the build.
