@@John-ws5oh Physically, no. The engineer in the lead locomotive controls the trailing locomotive(s). There is a series of air hoses and one large electrical cable running between both locomotives allowing for “Multiple Unit Control” essentially allowing both to operate as one unit. As an example: as they pass you can hear both locomotives throttle up together.

Nothing, the diesels were added on to provide dynamic braking for next leg of the excursion as it was now down grade.They were removed at Pittson Yard.

⁠@@EastCoast_RailFan A good way to remember is that 800-series Genesis units are P40s. The others are P42s. I have yet to catch that P40 on the Northeast Regional myself.

It does look funny, my thought was since she’s in reverse/being pulled at 40-ish mph is why it looks faster then it is. Not sure if thats right but thats what made since to me.

@@wmoscati Wow, I thought 31 was a lot to do, but 60?!?. I’d love to have 60 of them but I’d go insane detailing and weathering them; it already took me months to do these. In the end it is worth it, the first couple are the worst since theres no instruction where the parts go. I do know the grab irons with the one shorter end go on the ends of the car while the equal length ones go on the sides, everything else kinda just falls into place.

@silverphantom4847 yeaaaaa... i belong to a rr club thats big enough it looks appropriate, and if I ever have a home layout it'll fill it. I actually just acquired 31 more, plus the athearn 5 pack of white ones I have... 96 car unit coal drag 🤘. I have a fellow club member who did a full write up instruction on the detail kit install as he got a bunch of the bnsf version, but while its definitely appreciated and very well done, I am 100% moreso a visual learner.

I have aloooooooot of work to do on them. Thankfully the 31 just acquired are already renumbered but my original 60 are not, yet. Plus detailing, weathering, graffitiing, and coal loads.

Not that i’m aware, broadway is the only manufacture that has made this model recently. Others are older and are full brass construction which are much more expensive.
