Lovely. My mother and father were both born in Port Glasgow, and one grandfather. Only Mother remains, now 93. She’ll enjoy seeing this.

I was born in Houston street near the Glen and soon moved to Mackie Save in Chapelton . I attended Chapelton school as well as Jean street school. When I was about 10 years old I won the "The Peter Stanton progress prise" for Mathematics ony last year at Jean Street. Nice to find out about who he was even if a bit late My parents moved to Glasgow road and there was a Provest lamp outside our close I think my mum said his name was Stanton Same person?

My Granda Gibson lived in #7 Argyle St. I remember the wee cornor shop. I can't remember if the name over the shop was called Stevenson's or Stevens. I always thought they should never have torn down those streets. They were good solid buildings. If they had have renovated them instead? I think they would still be standing today. That's how well built they stood!!!

Seems electricity has isolated people from one another; no more gas lighters, listening to radios and watching tv indoors, less interaction amongst the community. Thank you Hugh for your story, I found it picturistic and poetic. God Bless, Mike

Thank you Ian for your story, it touched my heart. My father was from Scotland, and he was very resourceful in getting us kids entertainment, he would find all kinds of stuff for us from dumps and everywhere (alot of times it was embarrassing) but I miss him now. I am born and raised in North America, which is where my father went to after WW2. Thank you again Ian for your story (I wish my father could have done this on his life) Thank you Ian, God Bless, Mike
