The Baring Cross community garden has been transformed over the last year in appearance and popularity. The garden is located near 13th Street and Pike Avenue. Many neighbors pick fresh vegetables weekly from the garden. This year, the garden has produced almost 4,000 pounds of produce that has been distributed to the community. The garden contains six unheated greenhouses or high tunnels which extend the growing season. The garden has an automated drip irrigation, along with weed suppression techniques in the high tunnels which allows workers to focus on maintaining and harvesting produce rather than spending hours pulling weeds.
