Tritone Guitar Jam? (Jam with yourself concept)
This is just a random video I found on my phone the other day. 😁 I thought I would post it to share how I sometimes save ideas for things I am writing or working on. It's a quick way to save ideas, and saving ideas is good! Because you never know. What seems "okay" to you today, but be an awesome idea for the future.
Besides that concept, I think a cool way to practice is to "Jam with yourself." (I have made a couple RUclips videos on this.) Basically, play a reoccurring riff of some sort and then interject lead guitar for a measure or two. And keep doing this format: riff/lead/riff/lead. Try it and see what you think!

      @@RickStack I believe it was the Gibson Byrdland guitar on the record. I was watching him play the Byrdland yesterday at what looked like a convention. He was at booth talking with fans. Thanks! 😊 Lollar High Wind Imperial pickups, and the guitar is a Campbell American- Fuzix model. I’ve had four guitars built by the same builder out in New England. He stopped making guitars now though. I found them from somebody that I’ve studied with who is a professor at Berklee College of music in Boston. David Fiuczynski. Not to get too far off topic, lol, but check him out. He plays a double neck guitar often and the tap neck is fretless. Amazing player!!

    As a learner what metronome speed would you play this at and what would normal speed in song be.

    • @RickStack
      @RickStack 7 месяцев назад

      The original song is 124 BPM. I would try going about half that speed and see how it feels. If it’s still too fast, you could go slower, and if it seems too slow, you could go faster. I find that people often go too fast though. It’s always best to start simple and make it easy for yourself first. And then as the days and weeks go by you can always speed it up! A note about metronomes though: They can be quite tough to play with at first. So in my opinion, you don’t necessarily have to play with a metronome at first. Just wanted to mention that in case you have a hard time with it. I’ve seen so many people get frustrated with trying to use a metronome. They definitely have their place though! Another thought is to eventually try to play along with the song itself. That’s what I did when I was first starting out. There’s software that slows things down now, but there wasn’t when I was first learning. So I just had to throw on the original track and try to keep up! 😁

    Hi do you mute the A string with the tip of your index finger when playing this chord ? Thanks 👍

    • @RickStack
      @RickStack 7 месяцев назад

      Great question! Yes, I definitely mute the A string with the tip of my index finger. There may be times when my thumb also reaches over far enough to do that, but I would say I rely on my index finger. This also helps if you want to get rid of the low A note on the sixth string and just play three note voicing. Best of luck with it!
