Sebek uses Thunderbolt and it was super effective! Man is definitely a Pikachu "And all it took was 2 battle maps" Unfortunately 😅 But man is Sebek knocking some sense into Silver and proving just how much he is loved is such a great scene. Both of their voice actors did an amazing job, and I love the "Once Upon a Dream"-based OST they played in the background (make is available to play in the guest room pls) As far as the whole "signature spell" vs "unique magic" thing - in JP it's unique magic, but they changed it to signature spell in EN. Anyways they're both technically correct and interchangeable. I tend to call it unique magic myself.

"Maybe the darkness just wants a friend" LOL Sebek and Silver's first meeting was so cute - I love how Sebek completely misinterprets Silver's sleeping as him being slovenly and unworthy of the honor of being Lilia's pupil, and meanwhile Silver is just confused, wondering why this new loud kid is so angry. They really haven't changed a bit. And Malleus being the one to teach Silver and Sebek magic was so cute and unexpected! I can't wait until they make these flashback scenes in the manga / anime so we can see TWST child designs

If the developers ask 'why aren't they spending more money?' This is why.😑

The Twistune with them destroying the park was so cute! I love Ortho's little shimmy when they dance. I really hope Ernesto and Gino return someday too (along with Rollo). They really are hilarious - I'm definitely pulling for Ernesto's SSR next year whenever they rerun Playful Land. One thing I really hoped they would have answered though is - what happened to the rest of the ppl at the park? The last we heard of them they were getting loaded into crates and boarded onto a ship - are they just? Stuck as puppets forever? They had to be ppl from Sage's Island... the fact that we gloss over that unnerves me a little

This event was great. I adore the Halloween events and stories.

While I don't think Playful Land has the best writing (I felt like the transition from "oh no we're going to be sold off as puppets to do who knows what" to "oh btw school is important and should be cherished" was a little abrupt and forced at first), I love how the students... actually lose for once. And to someone that's not from RSA! Like if Ernesto's boss had only been slightly less of an ass, they would have been stuck as puppets. It's kind of scary to think about how close that came to being a reality... Anyways I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction to next chapter's Twistune! Playful Land is kind of a buck wild event tbh

I like how Ernesto's magic is technically very weak, but he creates situations where it becomes more influential. Just a little bit of optimism in the right situations can do wonders Also Ernesto's "Why do I do all this bad stuff? That's what I wanna know!" line makes me think that he knows the technical reason why he is doing it (bc he needs money to survive), but is wanting to know the reason life handed him such a terrible hand. Like, in another world where he and Gino were rich and educated, then he probably wouldn't be voluntarily joining in a human trafficking scheme. I think it's more just him cursing fate for putting him in his current position. That being said, there are still many other ways he could have made money than turning people into puppets...

"Just do what you're told- OH MY GOD" Your reaction when Ernesto started to sweet talk them again after the battle was priceless! And yeah I would have thought the "don't beat up staff" rule would apply to Ernesto & Gino too since they are the park managers, but I guess not? Maybe bc they are the park managers, they are exempt to the magic of the park (or at least Ernesto is) - which is good bc it allows them to break rules, but bad in that the spell doesn't ensure their safety like the rest of the staff puppets.

Again, very dark at times. thankfully everyone is no longer a puppet

Ah yes, the 3 things all NRC students can agree upon: -RSA sucks -Don't mess with Halloween -Crowley is the most useless man on the planet Seriously love how Leona weaponizes Crowley here by being 100% honest about his character. Nothing nice to say, except that he WILL be a pain in the ass if he thinks it will wreck the school's (*cough cough* HIS *cough*) reputation

Have to hope that everything ends well with this one. This story was so fun and very dark 😅

RIP King Also I find it really interesting that the "rules" of the park only affect guests and not Ernesto & Gino (no employee handbook?) I mean it makes sense considering how they're weaponizing the rules, but it also interesting to think about - like, they're not physically puppets, but aren't they /technically/ puppets, following the plan under their boss (or guy Ernesto's on the phone with)?

When Lilia, Jade, and Grim realized that they were, in fact, doomed, I had to pause the game bc I was laughing so hard 😭 RIP us and the boys

This events has gotten very dark, and very messed up

I like to imagine that, when Kalim was a child, said he wanted a pet fish after some other kid with a goldfish, and as a result his family bought him a whole ass aquarium with dolphins and orcas I love the song in the Twistune! I actually thought it was annoying at first, but it grows on you. Like an earworm. Bc that's what it is! Also... you might be onto something with Ernesto's magic 👀Time for the fun to begin!

I think the order of the groups our character visited is supposed to be Kalim's Group -> Ace's Group -> Ortho's Group, as that would be a full circle of the park (just wish they made it make sense chapter-wise) I do really like the idea of Seafloor Stroll though. It sounds so magical... plus the fried fish at the end sound delicious. I swear Grim is going to eat this park out of business! Also the carousel was hilarious!!! RIP Jack and Leona (I like to imagine that Kalim showed Ruggie the pictures after the event, and he'll never let them live it down)

These tend to feel like the story is very out of order sometimes 😅 But it was nice to see everyone having fun!

"Is he trying to actually make them break the rules?" 👀 I love the pool scene - it's fun getting to team up with Jade and Ortho to crush Vil's team. Also - the apple core popcorn bit was funny, with Jade's insistence on the uniqueness of the "core" flavor (and also him shoving it down Floyd's throat). Jade has just been a menace in general while in this group! Love it

I love how much detail they're going into when describing the different attractions at the park - it makes me really, really want to go there. Like, a 10+ minute rollercoaster?! That sounds amazing! I wanna ride it! And the way Trey described the nuts and spices in the cherry pie makes my mouth water

Roller coasters are usually pretty scary. I haven’t been on that many, but I usually have fun.

Playing through Book 2 of Playful Land really makes me want to go to an amusement park now... I wonder what yummy food we ate off-screen with Grim? Churros sound good (knowing Grim though it was something with tuna) Also! The carriage and the donkeys! The way one of the special effect sparkles is placed on one of the donkeys eyes made me think it was crying when I first saw it... rip

Love the outfit designs for this event! Some look like nutcracker toys (Cater, Vil and Ortho), some look like circus performers (Kalim (ringmaster), Leona (beast tamer), Lilia (acrobat), Jack (strongman), and the rest are just plain classy and fitting the Playful Land vibe perfectly! Now time to enjoy the theme park~

Not the Ace Splash Zone 😂 I really like the idea of a traveling theme park... Playful Land reminds me of Erin Morgenstern's book "The Night Circus"!

Ernesto is so sleazy I love it! I really like his design too Really like how unhinged Jade is at the beginning - just following Jack around and trying to get him to wear weird clothes. And then he was being a bad influence on Kalim (stealth naps!) No one here knows the concept of stranger danger. We are the lone brain cell, being dragged into it.

Silver being forced into fighting his father by the darkness is so cruel 😭 Man is really going through it... though the battle map can be frustrating, I do enjoy how they used it to showcase his inner turmoil

Ahhh I'm so happy to finally see you react to Lilia and baby Silver! Honestly sucks that Silver is so depressed in this battle map but! The scenes where he sees himself growing up (and Lilia's love towards him) are so cute! I recommend reading Lilia's Dorm vignette if you want more content on what he was like raising baby Silver Lilia's unique magic - to see memories of objects - is really neat when you think of all the random stuff he has scattered around his room. Man is literally collecting memories! And babysitter Malleus... just imagining Malleus' face when he's left alone with a human baby is hilarious
