    • @bakingbudgets
      @bakingbudgets 2 месяца назад

      Hello ! I use prop money specifically for my bills so I don’t have to bring it back and forth to my bank from home. So the fake money shows how much I have in my bank account. And then I also use placeholder “bills” for the same reason, it represents how much money I have in the bank so it can grow in my high yield savings account while still utilizing the cash stuffing envelope method (: I use real money for my sinking funks and regular cash spending such as eating out , coffee and gas!

    Hi, Absolutely love this video but question : Once half or full amount of expenses is saved up like you talked about at 14:54 mark. What do I do with it ? Just leave it in savings or use to help pay off the next bills , debt, etc?

    • @bakingbudgets
      @bakingbudgets 2 месяца назад

      Hi thank you so much! Personally, I like to leave it in an account in my bank where bills are withdrawn from. I don’t use it to pay off the next bills or debt, I leave it in my account to use if in an emergency we don’t have enough to pay our bills. Thank you for your question!

    I have a notebook where I keep track of bills. The top of the page is the month. Down the left is the due date, folllwed by the bill, amount due, payment confirmation number and date paid. Once paid I check it off. I also added them all up and divided by 2 them moved the due dates around so both halves are roughly even. First half bills get paid on the 5th, second half bill get paid on the 20th. Turn the page, copy all info minus confirmation and date paid, rinse and repeat.

      I love that for you!! Let me know how it goes (: when it comes to budgeting for groceries sometimes it can be hard, even after many years and trips to the stores because of prices being out of our control etc. but the one thing I have always done is meal plan everything. I know exactly what meals I’ll be cooking for the next 1-2 weeks so I know exactly what ingredients we need to buy. That has helped us tremendously over the years to not over but or over spend!

    Hi 👋 great video 😊

  • @Kristenmacc
    @Kristenmacc 2 месяца назад

    I’d like to cash stuff but tons of places where I live don’t take cash anymore, especially the self checkouts. So the fake money seems helpful. I noticed in your last video you didn’t budget for household items like paper towels, cleaning supplies and personal care. What categories do those fall under for you? Also what about fun money or clothes? Or things for your home like towels, sheets?

    • @bakingbudgets
      @bakingbudgets 2 месяца назад

      Hey, I completely understand. Even where I live there are a ton of places that do not accept cash either, so for that we leave money on our debit cards to swipe it when we have to. Or even using a credit card as long as you are able to pay it back right away. For us we shop at costco, so buying household items like paper towels, tissue, etc, comes up for us only a few times a year. So when it does I usually include it in our grocery bill. So when I budget the $500 to last our family two weeks, I essentially try to aim for $250-$300 on groceries, but if we do need to pick up a household item, fun money, or even clothes, then it comes out of that $500 allocated and then it would mean we have less money for those two weeks to spend on eating out. And usually it works out totally fine for us! Unless we know we have a larger expense such as shoes or perhaps outer wear jackets, I will budget more. I hope that makes sense. let me know if there's anything else I can clarify, thank you for asking! (:
