Просмотров 1,1 тыс.2 года назад
Hello and welcome to Bogey Golf. In this video, we played an all par 3 course on the first nice day of the year. I am an 18 handicap golfer which means I average a bogey per hole. I show every shot of my round (6 holes), and hope to improve at the same time. A little about me: I am a weekend golfer that has just picked the game of golf back up after not playing for years. I am currently an 18 h...

Hi! Today we are playing an all par 3's course and hoping to put together some great scores. Conditions were improving from the last few weeks, but being that it is winter, there are still some tough spots everywhere we go. We show every shot through 3 holes of golf on a par 3 course. A little about me: I'm an 18 handicap golfer, which means I average a bogey per hole or 1 over par. I have play...

Hey There! In today's video we are playing Lochmere Golf Club and showing you what a 18 handicap golfer hits through 3 holes. A 18 handicap is what some call a bogey golfer, averaging 18 over par through 18 holes. We use the shot tracer to show you where each shot goes along with a little commentary to walk you through what is going on. A little about me: I'm an 18 handicap golfer who has playe...

How Far Can an Average Golfer Hit Each Club
Просмотров 4,7 тыс.3 года назад
Hey there! In this video, we showcase how far an average golfer can hit each golf club. From a pitching wedge all the way to the driver, we track the distances and have a cool little shot tracer like the pros. I am in no way saying that I am a good golfer, just wanting to show what it was like to get out on the driving range amongst the crowd. I shot roughly 15-20 shots with each club to sort o...
Every Shot of an 18 Handicap Golfer (3 Holes)
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.3 года назад
What is a 18 handicap golfer? What is a handicap? In golf, a handicap is how many shots above par you shoot on average. I am an 18 handicap casual golfer looking to showcase the game I love to anyone wanting to watch. Typically an 18 handicap means that you bogey every hole throughout an 18 hole round. If you want to clean up your game, simplify your rounds, and overall just enjoy some fun golf...
Uh, no.
hey
Yoooo, this just popped up in my recommended and I recognized the course. I’ll actually be out at Lochmere in a week or two. I’m considering started a golf RUclips channel or changing this one (gaming 880sub). It would be awesome if you wanted to join me for 18 and we can talk about YT and golf. I’m currently near the same handicap too. I also live in Cary so i play RGA and Knights play as well as this course.
If you go past the hole it's easier to read because you've already saw it.
This is knight’s play right?
Great video! Helped me see myself and visualize my play as I hit a lot of similar shots. Thanks for the lesson!
Don't know if it's best or not. I reckon the pw out the trees after the 3wood off the tee, might of been wrong club . A 5 or something, punchy keep it under the branch's and plenty of roll. Even on a miss hit. I don't even have a handycap so won't be offended if you tell me to f off🤣
Depends on ball lie. If sitting up then bump and run is a good option but if buried you may need some loft. I sometimes use a rescue if I want to avoid low branches.
take a few more seconds to read the green and line the putt up. That will save you some strokes as well. I went from a 20 hcp to a 16 just doing that with a little work on short game.
Random question here 🤣 how high off the floor is your tripod for filming shot Tracers? Also do you add them after filming or during the round. Thanks
👍
Hold up. Why is there a 30yd difference in your 9 iron and 8 iron?
My hcp is 16-18 and my PW travels only 110yard Lol. 160yd with 5iron, 180yd with 3hybrid, and 220 with 3wood. I don’t have driver in my bag.
you have a nice ball flight off that driver
I’d happily watch a full round also. Good narration.
Just found your channel and immediately subscribed. Your game looks pretty similar to mine so it’s a lot of fun to watch. I do like the short format of these videos, but I also wouldn’t mind some full round videos also. Keep up the good work!
I would not have guessed you were a 18 handicap. You play great golf
What is the point of this video? It doesn't make sense at all.
@@stratelite1337 I understand, I have read the title. What I am trying to say I don't understand why the golfer filmed himself playing and put it on RUclips for others to see. What are the viewers supposed to learn or takeaway from this video?
@@checkandcheese9686 im assuming its for entertainment purposes
@@checkandcheese9686 If you legitimately don't know what can be learned from watching a video then I suggest you delete your RUclips account and toss out your computer. You're clearly way too smart for the internet.
@@checkandcheese9686 Isnt that the case with most YT vids, reality TV and FB pics..etc.
I play off a 12-14 handicap. My averages are much, much lower. I play old school lofts, Titleist DCIs and hit my pitching wedge 100 yards. My 6 hybrid carries 145 yards and my steel shafted 983E carries 200 yards with 15 yards or roll.
7 handicap here: Average 235 carry off the tee. Rarely does it roll out more than 260 Average 8 greens in regulation Average 34.5 - 35 putts (not great) Sand save % is well below 20% Average Up and down par saves: 3-4 per round Average Birdies: one every 30 holes Average Double bogeys: one per round Worse than a Double Bogey: RARE My game consists of pars and a lot of tap in bogeys. I break Eighty 15-20% of the time. Single digit handicappers are not extraordinary players. They eliminate huge mistakes, is all.
Love that last sentence. It’s all about minimizing the mistakes. Keep it up man!
? ???????
18 handicap does not really mean you usually shoot 18 over par. It means the best you can shoot on you best day is 18 over par. Handicap is your golfing potential and not your average score.
I’m a 13 handicap at 15 and my putting has struggled a little bit. Does any body have any mental tricks to calm yourself down in the course?
Putt it in a trash can. The hole always seems so small when you get longer putts, so picture a trash can size hole and putt it in the trash can walk away at worst two putts at best 1 putt.
Why not use a 9 iron for chipping? Choke down on it and move it like a putter.
7:30 you might try putting more weight on your lead foot to reduce the chance of topping these chips.
Nice round! One thing I noticed that could lower your scores is how early you release your club. Feel as if your releasing that wrist hinge that you make at the top of your swing almost right before you hit the ball. Distances should go up too when implementing this change!
What are the lofts? Interesting.
You should keep track of your carry distances for the future , that way you can get over obstacles and bunkers on course.
Hi bogey man thanks for sharing can you show a video face on of your driver setup thanks Michael
It all depends on the degree of loft the club has!!! Is it a Standard Loft, and Weaker Loft, or a Stronger Loft...Communally called CLUB CREEP!!! A 9 iron with 3 degrees of lower/less loft than a standard lofted 9 iron will hit a ball farther, whereas a 9 iron with 3 degrees of higher/more loft will hit it shorter than a standard lofted 9 iron!!!
Nice little round Bogey Man! :) Greens look in great condition
They’re definitely improving! Winter golf was a bit tough, but the spring is here!
I would do at least 6 holes or more per video but keep up the good work!
I really appreciate the advice! Definitely looking to do longer videos soon
Its solid sigle handicap player distance. for sure!
Fantastic entertaining video. (New subscriber) look forward to more.
My JPX 921 HM 6 iron total distance is 242. You can do the math on the rest. Clubhead speed on that was an avg. 102MPH.
Your swing speed (and likely skill level) is beyond what those irons were intended for. If you're consistently hitting a Mizuno HM 6 iron 230+ yards, you should probably look at forged or or even a blade set of irons. Your distance is on average more than most golfers driver distance who purchase those clubs
Damn, you really hit it a long way. Is short game your worst part? I'm a 20 hcp golfer, only been playing a little under a year and my 3-wood is my furthest with 200 yards and 7-iron is only 124 yards. I can go 220 with driver, but its too volatile, so I'm only using it on the driving range right now, but my short game is definitely the best part of my game.
You just can't say "I hit 7 iron this far". You hit YOUR irons this far. I have 2 sets, one "game improvement" and one "scary player's blades". On my blades, 7 iron is 35 degrees of loft, and on my game improvement set 7 iron has 29 degrees... The distances on both are way different, as 50% more on my Mizuno jpx hot metals. It is not only about the loft, I am not (YET ;-)) good enough to play these blades, miss the center of the head like 5mm and the ball is short, curved, and so on... But when you have a good streak, you can land ball after ball in a bucket from 140 yards. Balls hit with game improvement club land more like in a small pool ;-)
What app do you use mate?
Shot tracer in the App Store. Available on windows as well
Got a sub here, really like the content mate!
Thank you!
Your backswing is very short. Personally your swing also looks too far in on the takeaway. I would look t one piece takeaway videos and hip rotation. Maybe also slow the backswing down a bit.
You are above average my friend
Winner, winner, 100th subscriber! Enjoy watching the short format videos and as a current 20 handicap, I can relate to the shots, scoring, and occasional "breakdowns". Keep it up
I really appreciate you! Every round is a roller coaster, but it’s always fun
This is eerie: there isn't more than a yard's distance between your length and mine. I carry a 60 wedge, and that's reliably 85-90 yards, and my 5W goes 215
Great video, would happily watch a full round, love the positive attitude. I’m definitely in your camp with the putting, I don’t buy the whole “if u don’t hit it past it can’t go in” , id rather leave it a bit short.
Really appreciate you! I can definitely understand the putting aggressively to give yourself a chance as some have mentioned, but as a high handicapper, I tend to play a little more passive when it comes to putting.
I guess it depends on what is on the other side of the hole. If it is an uphill putt I would prefer to be short or close to the hole . If it is a down hill putt, I would prefer to go past the hole a little and leave an uphill return putt. I hate putting on convex greens with the hole at the top of the hill.
It's a weird one for me I can hit my PW 140yrds,9 150,8 160,7upto 180 and then my irons go to pot 6 5 and 4 I can't hit 3 wood I hit around 230-250 yards then my driver 280-300yrds carry.
Nice video! What tracking app you using?
Thank you! It’s called Shot Tracer in the App Store and also available on windows
Another great video. Love the views and your commentary. Keep it up!
Thanks. Great length and description. For your short game I’d recommend looking at ‘Chris Dennis’ on YT. Some great stuff on their.
Really appreciate the advice, I’ll definitely take a look!
I prefer your other vids without the music, but with your commentary. I actually stopped watching this one before the end. I have subscribed though.
Nice video, good commentary. I like the shot tracer and little description of club, distance. Thanks for posting. Actually, I think your vids shed be longer, say about 8 mins or so.
Your logic about leaving the putts short is flawed. You must give the ball a chance to drop in ....it never will if your short ... Good stuff ..subscribed ...
I can agree with that, thanks for the tip!
I wouldn't say either of you are wrong. The original comment in the vid said he'd rather be 2 foot short than 10 feet long and that's correct. Why would you want to be 10 foot past the hole? If you hit it that hard you're making the effective catch size of the hole tiny. Outside of ten feet, really you just want to leave yourself the shortest putt possible as you're statistically not going to make that many anyway. Inside of 10 feet you don't want to leave many short.
