We are a couple based in Auckland, New Zealand. It took a global pandemic for us to pause from our busy lives and decide to truly enjoy life to the fullest.

How long was the drive?
Took us 4 hours one way to get to the West Rim coz we had stop overs. If you drive straight to West Rim its about 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours. Safe travels

What's the weather like as compared to NZ?
Extreme weather here..it can get as high as 40 degrees celsius in summer but the difference is its not humid. To really cold win winter -2 degrees but dry and barely rains in winter. Melbourne have the 4 seasons in a day weather like in Auckland

Hey I'm from Europe and want to come to Australia with my dog, but I'm super afraid she will be bitten by something poisonous or that she will bite such an insect. How is it really when you're with a dog in Australia? What do I need to take care for? I only find informations for the process of getting my dog into the country, not about security for my her whole being there. Thank you in advance and really nice hike!
We were scared for our dog for the same reason. So far living in Australia with our dog has been ok. It really depends where you live. We are in Melbourne and its cooler that other states so we havent seen much snakes and spiders yet. But also we live in an inner city suburb so its busy. I think there are more snakes and spiders in rural and warmer states. Also we dont let our dog off the lead especially when we’re hiking. All the best!

Hello Cindy l, we went in the month of November and left vegas around 8am because we had to wait for our rental car to be ready. I suggest if you’re using a rental that you pick this up the day before so you can leave early and have plenty of time at the West Rim. We has to cut our tour short as we wanted to leave before sun set. We left at around 4pm at West rim and felt rushed.Safe travels!

Ooh, I'm planning to drive too from Vegas to West rim b/c its the shortest drive, but nervous if there are cliffs that you have to drive by 😅. I'm totally not doing the hoover dam for this reason. Is there a pretty straightforward, flat drive to Grand Canyon or is the dam on the way to the west rim lol? Cant do heights.
The drive to the West Rim is pretty flat. When you get to West Rim they make you park in their carpark and the windy roads are left for the tour buses that picks you up at the entrance. Safe travels

Very expensive housing,very expensive food, not at all like it use to be,to many houses going up getting more like Lego land,people are getting hard to understand,Auckland is a dump now and I should know I live here oh and the traffic is horrendous.

Hello! Thanks for watching our vid. Glad it was helpful. Finding a property to rent or buy is very subjective, for example some want to be close to the city some are ok to be in the outer suburbs which is cheaper in rent and to buy a property. Our experience is that it was easy to find a rental property but it did take a few viewings before we decided to put an application on a property. Luckily we git accepted quickly. Best to start with your criteria such as proximity to work, school budget etc. then hop on to realestate website. Highly recommend to check crime rate on suburbs you find. All the best on the move 😁
