In addition to the No Sabos there are the first gens who grew up speaking perfect Spanish, were taught to read and write Spanish but all their friends after high school aren't Spanish speaking whatsoever. Then the years start passing by where the only time they speak Spanish anymore is when they see their parents. Pretty soon they're forgetting words and they sound just like No Sabos. This also happens with Italians, Portuguese, Greeks, Koreans and depending on where they live Indians and Pakistanis. Luckily I grew up in a state where the liberal government had a program that was pretty common where for an hour each day the Spanish speaking kids were put in an advanced Spanish language class where they were required to read Spanish literature and the discuss the reading assignment as well as preparing written essays. By the time we reached high school we were all fully fluent and literate bilinguals. This would later be an advantage when applying for higher paying jobs in many international business fields. But When the Republicans took over during the Reagan and Bush years they defunded all those Spanish education programs. And thats why you have the No Sabos today.
