25:50 Edmond Hall played like crazy in this concert! By this point it is known that the clarinetist was tired of playing the same songs in Armstrong's All-Star and I guess that is why he allowed himself to improvise and explore even more. Even the great Satchmo seems somewhat "conservative" next to him. I love it!

He plays the notes with a deep understanding of what the composer intended them to mean personally and intimately. This is why every composer has his own sound world that is the DNA of who he was and what he was saying. Nothing could portray this more thoroughly than Horszowski's approach to the Beethoven d minor sonata. His identification with the mystery of the entire piece is profoundly telling. Even though not note perfect and not sonically or acoustically pure, throughout it is nevertheless startling in its respect for the riveting gravity of its form and its relentless disturbing beauty. Horszowski loved this difficult sonata because he felt it.

If You love the music of Ray Charles, this live concert is some of the greatest. First of all, the voice of Ray is at its most soulful and perfectly recorded. Secondly, This is a fantastic succession of songs ending with What I Say. And finally, the band and the Raelets sound great. So What a show from the High Priest!

I'm an amateur who plays mostly by ear using guitar chord charts to try to give me insights on the structure of the arrangements of Willow Weep For Me which has a lot of blues elements. Aside from my admiration of most jazz arrangements, this version is lovely. All this makes me feel wistful; the language of music is out of reach of those that do not speak it.

All City Orchestra was part of my upbringing back in the 1960s. I will never forget what I learned and the music we played on stage. I am grateful for the program.

We could never have known that just one week after this performance (3/4/20), the whole world would suffer the tragic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bless all of these incredible young artists, conductors, and teachers for such a powerful concert.
