      Thanks so much for your suggestion!! I will definitely look at doing that one next! You can definitely use this video and the beauty and the beast warm up to help with those long phrases and keeping your breath moving. My other suggestion is really think about what home means to you! Have that place/feeling/person in mind every time you sing that word!! Happy practicing! Break a leg at your audition!!

    Is there any way to make “glare” a less head mix ? Because the way you sing it , sounds like a very heady mix . Can u make it a chestier mix without it not working and having to do a headier placement to get it out

    • @MsForte-yz9nd
      @MsForte-yz9nd 6 лет назад

      You are correct, I am doing a headier mix on "glare" in that key because it is easier for me to do. I can do a chesty mix in that key on good days, but typically I would sing it a half step lower to full chest belt the whole thing. In my 5 tips video ruclips.net/video/rHYPNSt05d0/видео.html I talk about picking your key based on what you want it to sound like. So if you want a full belt sound all the way through, you just need to find a key that works for you to do that. When I teach I tend to err on the side of easy, instead of pushing, but if you have the range you can certainly do it in a more chesty mix. Simply keep the forward resonance and make sure you aren't over tightening your throat. You may need to add a little more tightness to your core to keep the air pressure and have your voice stay in more of a chest mix. I hope that helps!

    when I "exhale" should my back also expand?

    • @MsForte-yz9nd
      @MsForte-yz9nd 8 лет назад

      Demetria I feel expansion in my back when I "inhale" breathe in, if I'm giving a big/quick exhale I might feel a little counter balance in my lower back as my upper and go out, but I'm not really thinking about it. in fact, until you asked I hadn't even noticed it! I usually concentrate more on my front abs, but everyone feels things slightly differently. hope that helps!

    Hey Ms. Forte thanks for helping me out with voice while playing guitar! Great job

    • @MsForte-yz9nd
      @MsForte-yz9nd 8 лет назад

      GamingWithSnow absolutely!! this is super important for guitar players cuz you have an instrument sitting on your diaphragm! it's really easy to forget about breathing when adding an instrument on top of what you are doing! i suggest thinking about pushing out against the guitar instead of letting it push you in :). glad this can help!!

  • @myownflow9887
    @myownflow9887 8 лет назад

    should i breath through my diaphragm in my daily life? even when i am not singing?even when i am talking to some or even when I am doing exercise?

    • @MsForte-yz9nd
      @MsForte-yz9nd 8 лет назад

      한예나 actually yes! if you can train yourself to breathe low in everyday life, it's much easier to do when singing! plus you get the benefits of having more oxygen! you won't necessarily use the same amount of air all the time, and may not need to hold the ribs up to keep in air as much... but some of that can actually help with things like exercise. every time they tell you tighten your core just think breathe in and hold!

  • @stellapaschopoulou5238
    @stellapaschopoulou5238 8 лет назад

    Hi .Thanks for your video and for your kindness to share your knowledges with us.My problem is that I watched too many videos about singers breathing but none of them shows the most important point and I mean how is the right way to suck the air and how somebody can learn this important first step so I want to ask you if you can make a video HOW WE suck The air and give us and some advises how to learn it through exercises because most of us have got old bad breathing hapits and we must learn a new inhalation procedure.

    • @MsForte-yz9nd
      @MsForte-yz9nd 8 лет назад

      Stella Paschopoulou thank you for your comments! I am working on a couple practice videos in the next couple weeks so I will try to answer that! great question! it does take awhile to break our bad habits and really figure out how to breathe in where we need to. keep Practicing!
