      @banana_pie_101 Год назад

      Agreed. The museum said a couple of times that he never served and the uniforms were only his costumes. I think people just assume he served since he did so many military movies, and the military branches loved Wayne, because he was one of the best "recruiters" they had with the movies that he did.

      I believe his favorite type of gun was the Colt Single Action Army revolvers. If I remember right he owned a lot through his career, but used his personal favorite in. "The Cowboys", "True Grit", and "Rooster Cogburn". He even had it altered to accommodate his large hands.

    • @banana_pie_101
      @banana_pie_101 Год назад

      I almost dare not mention it, but if you are judging "the 2 types" from my video entirely, your data will be severely skewed. I visited this site during the pandemic in 2020, literally the staff and my dad and myself were the only ones there. Even if this video was not the only video or article you've seen to draw that conclusion, how incredibly bold and insulting for you to assume that my father and I, or any other persons who enter the building are either of those things. And also, may I say, how astonishing it is for you to assume that if blacks and non-racists happen to have an interest for John Wayne, they are automatically dishonorable and racist. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Is it not true, that racists make many assumptions and jump to conclusions based upon imcomplete, skewed, and/or irrational emotional thought? Which in fact, is what you have just accomplished with your comment, "...it seems that only two types of people enter, racists... and suckers, because blacks of honor and not racists don't even pass by." to a very similar degree. That statement relies upon the second clause being true in order for the first clause to also be true. The only thing validating that claim is itself. As is seen with your interesting choice of wording, "...it seems...". This is an open thought, with room for doubt as to what you are deciding to think. However, you immediately contradict yourself with a very concrete, "...because blacks of honor and not racists don't even pass by." The words, "because" and "don't even" come immediately to mind. 'Because' is defined by Mirriam-Webster Dictionary as, "For the reason that: since" and "the fact that: that". Thus showcasing the second clause to be the finite and conrecete thought which leaves no room for doubt or a change of mind. Your words, "don't even" are also of a concrete thought process. For the plain reason, the words in its simplest forms reads "do not even" which also leaves no room for negotiations. Therefore, your use of "...it seems..." is negated and your mind being open for other explanations is closed. The exact thing you have accused the thousands who have entered the JWB Museum of. Also, what message is given? That every person who "enters" are suckers and racists? If that is the case, does that not mean by clicking and opening this video, people have "entered" the museum? My video shows everything that was at the museum, thereby effectively giving you the approximate expierence you would have had, if you were to visit in person. Even walking by on the street at the very beginning. So YOU dear person on RUclips have passed by and entered the John Wayne Birthplace Museum. I am curious as to which category you would put yourself under? Racist? Sucker? Or Dishonorable blacks? I hope you have a wonderful day! 🥰🙏🙏

      That could be said about a lot of people, I'm sure the 500,000 who avoided the draft of ww2 were trying to seem tough but were really cowards. And the near 300,000 draft dodgers of the Vietnam War were equally hypocritical. John Wayne made mistakes. And he contraindicated himself multiple times. You probably knew that your parents or guardian said one thing and did the opposite and fell short in a lot of areas. And if you have kids, they know the exact same thing about you. Don't ask for grace when you can't give grace.

    • @banana_pie_101
      @banana_pie_101 Год назад

      The actors and actresses that didn't like Wayne were usually one who were democratic. Like Katherine Hepburn couldn't stand him because of his thoughts on subjects, but we also know she was left wing and Wayne was right wing, kirk Douglas and Wayne fought verbally all the time on set, but kirk respected Wayne for his views and vice versa. The guy who was in Easy Rider was intimidated by Wayne, but he was in a very controversial and left wing film. John Wayne had a clear cut mind as too what was right and what was wrong, and often had gotten into POLITICAL arguments. From what I gatherered, people either loved him, hated him, or were indifferent like everyone else. It also seems that John Wayne did respect people even though he may have disapproved of their views, and even wanted to know why they thought what they thought. Although, not always in a calm manner. To which son do you refer to? Ethan defended his father, even denying he was ever racist. Michael died in 2003 and he loved and admired his dad. He even created John wayne enterprises and was extremely careful with his fathers image and name. Patrick also defended JW saying how he thought it was wrong that people judge him from one interview, and said that every year ppl try and smear his dad, and how angry it made him to have people try and paint as a rotten, hypocritical good for nothing. Even John Wayne's daughter's defended him. Marisa praises her father through out her book, but also said there was a dark side and that was about jealousy when another actor set eyes onto his wife Pilar. She said JW treated ppl well and respected ppl. Mary died in 2000, and lived a very private life, not much is known about her. Melinda has very fond memories of her father and says he was a normal father who taught her ideals and character. Aissa also defended her father, saying he loved people, and very much cared about fellow human beings. She said that was the most endearing quality about him. Perhaps you are talking about his prolific use of swear words in private? He was quite the potty mouth.

    • @banana_pie_101

      So really, I am not seeing where he treated people horribly came from other than the people who couldn't stand him for his views and just didnt get along with JW.. Perhaps you could enlighten me specifically as to which parties expressed this?

In my video, every item in the museum was shown, except the gift shop. Each item gets 5 or more seconds screen time, before moving onto the next item. The pictures and videos are even in order of how you would see them if you were the one walking through the museum. I'm sorry this didn't live up to expectations, but luckily John Wayne was extremely popular, so if you search for John Wayne Documentaries in Google or RUclips I'm sure you'll find something more useful : )
