@@ChocoTravelGuide You're making me feel old! Tabacon in your video looks just like I remember it. The facilities haven't changed much. In my 1995 trip, it was four of us, two guys and two girls, all single, all visiting from the Silicon Valley. One of the girls got a massage. Afterword, she said her male masseuse was kind of grabby. I remember this song playing at the swim-up bar, a song from that era. ruclips.net/video/dbckIuT_YDc/видео.html After we finished at Tabacon--at night--we drove our rental car on a road that lead to an observation spot for the Volcano. We drove as far as we felt comfortable driving on that road in our two-wheel drive vehicle. Then we got out and sat on something and spent about an hour there watching and listening to the volcano, occasionally spraying on DEET to repel the mosquitos. It was magical. That whole day was magical. It was one of those rare days where you feel like two days' worth of stuff happened in one day. We had had breakfast in our hotel in San Jose that morning, rented a car, stopped in Zarcero to have lunch, reached the Fortuna area and got a guided tour down a trail to that waterfall that drains into a small lake, and so on. The next day, we did the Cano Negro boat tour.

Sorry I can’t confirm every detail, but I do recall seeing accessible ramps in the lobby and the Alaia restaurant. Also, there is an elevator for wheelchairs near the pool area.

Indeed, they didn’t alter the exterior during the recent renovation. It maintains its classic charm. However, the interior has been beautifully remodeled! I’m still not sure if they’ll add any finishing touches before reopening as a Ritz.

ah, i just checked their website. I think my room probably was the 1 King Bed, Diamond Head Ocean Front View. The Ocean Front View room probably are the rooms on the side directly facing the ocean (remember this hotel has a hexagon shape). I don't remember hearing any noise during the night!

I think it's about $300 during the summer (peak season) and lower during other months. Yes, you do need to pay for parking but they provide discount.

@@ChocoTravelGuide right. And I was not the only one. The elderly lady who switched seats so he could be next to me was traveling with her sister and they did the same thing to them--switched their seats. They couldn't find anyone to change with them so they could be together.

So what could TAP have done to make your 6'3" husband feel more comfortable in his seat? Ask the passenger in front to give up his seat as well?
