The God's Eye is almost certainly a supervolcano caldera like those of Tambora or Taupo. A sufficiently large supervolcano could absolutely blast a lake on the order of thousands of square miles out of the surface of Westeros.

I prefer the idea that Westeros is a highly volcanic place in a present period of quiescence, as evidenced by the existence of hot springs in the North and the sharp, jagged (i.e. geologically young) nature of the Flint Hills, Frostfangs, and Mountains of the Moon, with the God's Eye almost certainly being a Toba or Taupo-style supervolcano caldera.

I don’t know much or really anything about genetics, but Alicent Hightower’s kids were all dragon riders so if it’s only passed by the X chromosome does that mean that the Hightower’s are dragon riders and that’s why her kids all rode dragons? Same with Alyssa Velaryon I know she’s of the blood of old Valaryia, but I don’t think they were dragon riders at least not in recent history, and her kids were all dragon riders (except her kids with Robar Baratheon, which begs the questions could they have rode a dragon if they tried?) unless all it takes is a bit of dragon riding blood in your genes.

It’s got it’s own original foci and information that can be grabbed out of the text without resorting to using others Theories like say from Preston Jacobs or The Order of the Greenhand. Unfortunately one of its Main Pillars is just flat out wrong. It is Mathematically Impossible for Jon to be Rhaegar and Lyanna’s Son. In the Annotated Ebooks one of the Annotations (which is extra information added specifically by George thus making it Canon and unable to be argued against) says that Jon was born “around the Sack of King’s Landing” and Dany “Nine Months Later”. Now think about all of things that Ned had to do before finding Lyanna. He had to Pacify KL, he had to Travel to Storm’s End which with an Army big enough to threaten the Reach to not instigate Hostile Action which is a Month travel time minimum, he had to deal with the Reach when he got there, then if you subscribe to the Tower of Joy Theory (as opposed to the other most likely theory of Lyanna being at Winterfell and Benjen not telling Ned about is what really got him sent to The Wall) he would have to travel the entire breadth of the Continent Westward, go through treacherous Mountain Passes, and find a single small Tower in the Middle of Nowhere. That’s far too much time for Ned to find Lyanna “in her bed of blood” which indicates he found her not long after she gave birth. Because we know that Lyanna’s Cause of Death was Childbed Fever (which takes a few days to a couple of weeks maximum) we now have a frame of reference for the DOB of her Child. Now here’s the big thing so I’m going to put it in all caps, NO CHILD BORN DURING OR AROUND THE SACK OF KINGS LANDING IS IN CONTENTION FOR BEING RHAEGAR AND LYANNA’S CHILD! This makes it Mathematically Impossible for Jon to be Rhaegar and Lyanna’s Child. However there os evidence of their Child out there. You are making a huge assumption that Howland Reed was the knight of the laughing tree. There is more suggestion that it was Lyanna.

Loved the series and hope to hear my from you before winds! My main question is something like, do we think think it was really that humans forgot the nature of the deal or is it more likely some groups didn’t like the peace terms and deliberately fought against it? This could be due to only the humans in the know experiencing the hive mind and relating to the enemy, something that even a king Bran would lead to. A bunch of humans “not in the know” wondering why we have accepted a deal at all.

I think the source of the Bolton/Stark feud may be the Stark secret. I think it might actually be the Boltons who refuse to breed with the Starks, not the other way around. They were witness to the little Stark/Other children, having helped the Starks defeat the Night King, and the falling out was over the decision to take them back to Winterfell and not to kill them. Picture some Bolton progenitor in kind of the Elrond-at-Mount-Doom role, as the Stark-Isildur refuses to destroy the abominations they have found. Just an idea that popped into my head.

I'm from Baltimore and it's sad but true, we average close to 1 homicide per day. But we do LOVE playing lacrosse down here, a lot of people don't know that. University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, UMBC etc. have a rich lacrosse tradition and when growing up most kids end up playing either lacrosse or baseball in the spring

earlier in the series you mentioned that Ned's survival at the tower of joy allowed him to have Sansa, Robb, Bran and Rickon furthering the line. Did you miss out Arya by mistake or do you think shes the daughter of someone else?

I always thought the endings would be in the characters beginnings… For peace Dany would have to agree to be offered up by her family to a dreadful new husband… probably an Other….Especially if the females are more important for breeding. For Jon I’m wondering if Lyanna and Arthur Dayne were his actual parents… but Lyanna might not have known who the father was. Arthur guarded her day and night. Rhaegar might not have spent time with her after he thought she was pregnant. GRRM likes things to be messy. And Arthur seems more like someone Lyanna would eventually fall for. Arthur’s fight with Ned makes more sense if he’s trying to keep his family then if he’s protecting her from the only person who would protect the child. Dawn might be in Lyannas tomb. Robert thought she should be buried on a sunny hill. Maybe she was buried with Light.

I don't love the idea that killing your wife works as a picture of killing your own unreasonable desire for the sake of the greater good. I really like the idea that the prophecy/legend has been warped and misinterpreted over time, but if that's the superior interpretation, I'm pretty disappointed. I do think it's a good starting point to look at the Azor Ahai of legend as someone trying everything he can come up with to wage war and destroy his enemies - a fundamentally violent project. I'm just not satisfied yet with the takeaway proposed here.

Your take on War for the Dawn 2.0 (ending conflict with the Others through integration or partition rather than extermination) is the best I've heard, but I have to hard disagree on Nissa Nissa. No matter how much he desires her, a man can't conquer his own desire by killing a woman. That's his desire thoroughly conquering him, in the worst way. If anything, Nissa Nissa is a valuable sacrifice, and the power of Lightbringer comes from her value as a human (spiritually and perhaps also genetically) and as an object of desire. Azor Ahai channels his desire into forging his weapon, and is reminded that the central question of war is not "what can you kill", but "what are you willing to lose?"

The thing about a dayne and a telepathic influence from the sword. I'd like to hear more about that. Also the pov werewood idea is also very interesting.
