@PATRICKurmom Got hit by a serendipitous Pokémon nostalgia wave and I'm so glad I landed on your video. Thanks for putting so much effort in making this video, I loved every second of it! I'm a gen 1/2 kid and played both games back then but stopped after feeling alienated when playing sapphire. Your video shun some much needed light about the depth of Pokémon lore which made me want to rediscover the franchise again as an adult. If you had to rediscover the series with your current lore knowledge, which play order would you choose in order to get the most fulfilling narrative onboarding experience? Should we just go by timeline and treat them as separate series of games?

the timeline makes sense with lets go once you realize the fact that mina is probably a stoner in her 30s. Poni Island has basically no people so they just kept her has trial captain. also ill just say my headcanon has simply become that and that the red in let's go is just a faller and the real canon entry is lets go pikachu and you're actually Red and somehow the game went from a game that bothered my autism on a fundamental level to something really fun. also on oras, I dont think oras ever says that keystones come from Hoenn so by that logic all keystones in oras are still from kalos and hence a kalos phenomenon. also fairy type pokemon could be the weird pluto of pokemon types and have been classified and declassified at different points, perhaps the ultimate weapon even had an effect causing the type to even exist as that would explain why not only are fairies not classified in gens 1-5, they just dont seem to exist. I could see it as Kalos itself had only recently classified Faries and when it comes to the national dex inconsistencies similar deal since it's national not international.

I herd a theory that these 'giants' were regigigas and 'his' fallen 'brothers' and that were killed and infused into the plates that pokemon god Arceus to change its type Regigigas representing the legend plate of course BC i dont think that there is a normal plate held item and the other regies would be the other plates now regigigas is trying to rebuild his fallen brothers out of earthly materials and pure energy to overthrow God for whatever reason i personally believe this theory

4:33 Giratina apparently was supposed to be a counterpart to Heatran in the beta but they scrapped it and made it part of the lore (prob to coincide for the last egg shard ) also at 0:55 the Arceus lore seem kinda similar to greek myth so one of the giant 5:38 could be Regigigas wich is why he is stuck with Slow Start even in PLA but instead of holding the planet(like Atlas) he was forced in slavery and had to move the land 😞

Ive seen that the giants of the egg were all the same tier as Regigas, with gigas being the only survivor, hence why there was no Normal type plate. The current regi trio-quintuple are imperfect clones of gigas' fallen brothers and due to his betrayal gigas is cursed to move continents on gods chosen planet and to have slowstart ig?

I feel like it's also important to remember that there wasn't just one origin myths leaked. There were like 8 different variations that had some very significant changes and differences. None of them are likely what the in-game lore was *directly* based on, but they show a progression of ideas and different aspects made it to the games in different places

Quick comment just to say the fourth mythical abandoned from Gen 6 is the Steel/Electric steel-tower (Eiffel Tower even maybe ?) Tettou, not Zeraora.

To sorta help the Arceus Myth is Based on the Greek Kaos Myth if that helps. Like Kaos Arceus sleeps because it's not as relevant to the story at the moment. Great video👍

I would say we can ignkre the comments of fairy types and megas as just being retconned after ORAS came out since all games after have Fairy type including PL:A plus we know for a fact ORAS is before BW because there is text about the Royal Unova atill being under construction during the event's of ORAS while its completed in BW itself

This video was very helpful for me since im planning a gen1 fangame :P It will be a lot easier to stick to this way of thinking of the timeline or timelines.

When it concerns trading, remember, there are in-game trades in each game. And how do they, in the game, trade with you? By connecting a Link Cable in the first 2 gens and in RSE. It was then the wifi adapter in LgFr. From then on it is the DS's wifi network interface until the Switch titles where you just send it into the sky like with any other trade. That then brings up the question of whether the NPCs in the game also have their own sub-timelines in whatever they're containing their Pokemon on. Clearly, this is dumb but someone would bring it up. Clearly you link something of yours up with something the NPC owns and the linkage allows you to trade. And in terms of parallel timeilnes, think of it like this. There's a famous sci-fi anime called STIENS;GATE where the whole theme is about time travel. Each of the threads that the MC can see are small deviations from each other but the main timeline is still on the same path, which makes his descent into madness in the second half of the series all the more depressing as he keeps trying to deviate slightly but it is all for naught. The same could be said about the millions of carts out there. While both versions straddle each other with small differences like what you can catch or what legendary is in your game as the "box legendary," all the other main points remain the same. Small deviations in the main line. You aren't jumping a full line, you're jumping maybe .00001 of a line which is just a different thread following the same line. Just some food for thought.

Best placements of certain spin-off games: Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness are probably both sometime before D/P/Pt; and Colosseum is 5 years before XD. All three Ranger games are before D/P/Pt due to Manaphy in the first Ranger and the Griseous Orb in Guardian Signs. Also probably after R/S/E due to Groudon and Kyogre in the first Ranger. Go is after US/UM narratively, as its Giovanni is the same one as those games. Though, it's a different universe from the main games entirely.
