Pilgrim: A Rising K Ranch Horse
2019 AQHA Gelding

Everyone who throws a leg over Pilgrim loves how he handles like a seasoned cowhorse! At the same time, Pilgrim has been all over the mountains and is gentle for all kinds of riders.
I purchased Pilgrim as a weanling, where he was the high seller at Fort Ranch, out of the great stud (who is no longer with us), QUITE A BOON. He has been a money earner in the NRCHA hackamore class and has also done well in several local cowhorse shows. He loves to hook on to work cattle in the ranch cutting and especially loves to turn a cow down the fence!
I often use Pilgrim on the ranch as well, moving cattle, where he is great at reading cattle and helping me get the job done. Pilg...

This is how I wanna live. I just don’t know where to start
Not one single instruction on how to go forward. How many of us know left means left and right means right? Waste of time this vid is.
My dream is to ride horses and go fishing everyday (or most days of the week lol), btw what kind of hat are you wearing?? Idk what that style is called, i thought it was a gambler hat but your brim seems to be bigger than what i see of gambler hats online, i dont really like traditional cowboy hats with the concave crown, i like the circular and flat top crown of gamblers but would like the brim to be wide like yours. I would appreciate your help very much thanks, have a good day friend
VERY IMPRESSIVE 🎉
Wow good slide ing stop
Thank you!
@@Prettygoodcowpony looks like a good reining horse to me
This video is so clear and good looking
Thank you!
I'm Mexican we call that montar a pelo👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🥃
Been there done that!
Reminds me of line dancing, not sure why!
Looks fun
@@SimplyJustBellasEQ It is indeed.
Can I ride my horse with one hand win my horse thank you Nanette
Can I ask you how do I ride my horse with convinced thank you Nanette
He’s looking real good! Nice work! 🎉
Laughing when he said,“Let go of the saddle horn! It’s not the horn of salvation!!”
Your ranch is a great place to ride also.
No bears? That is gine. ❤
RDR 2 real life
thanks for the info
Utterly gorgeous.
Your horse is so well trained. So confused by whats going on but totally willing to do what you want. Ive been riding English for over a decade but am going to learn western because ive been told it might be easier on my (shot) knees and very rarely have I seen such a responsive english trained horse. Much love and appreciate for a simple yet through beginners guide
Thank you very much!
What saddle do you use and what size?
What saddle is that and what size?

Finally found something useful, n ofc it's a man recording ha much better then a woman talking
Gun broke. Very good. Have a FB friend who sustained a brain injury, and body injuries that still plague her, 20 years later. A horse next to hers, carrying a child, was startled by a tractor starting nearby. My FB friend tried to help.
I heard this is how the Steppe tribes rode their horses so they could have both hands free to fire a bow.
Theirs would have been a bit more refined than this horse in the video; but that is essentially correct. All good horsemanship has its roots in war.
@@Prettygoodcowpony I wanna thank you for this video because I had no idea how this was done and there isn't a lot of resources on this that I could find. I wanna be a horseback archer but I also have friends who are missing an arm or two who were wondering how'd they'd manage to ride a horse. Also, makes me think of the first horse riders... No saddle, bridle, or stirrups. Just maybe a blanket, bond, and leg muscles.
Amazing, thank you.
I would love it if you would make more of these beginner videos. 💕
Thank you! I'm sure I will.
It’s 4 am but hey atleast I know how to ride horses now
Glad I could contribute to the education of an insomniac.
Same😂
NO WAY SAME HERE!! 😂😂😂 I just came from watching Kai Cenat play RDR2
How can one ride with your arms out front without a lot of strain and eventually becoming too tired to keep them there?
On a long trail ride I just rest my rein hand on the horse's mane. If you're in the arena or working, you will be moving enough that you won't get tired or even think about it.
You're absolutely right.. You can gain knowledge by watching videos and reading books but unless there's someone to critique your abilities and show you what you're doing wrong chances are the skills you are trying to accomplish are not going to get any better.. If you want to get better at something you need to learn from someone who is really good at it...Whatever that is.. ...Nuff said...
This horse is back up for sale. Did you do much roping on her? Great sale video by the way.
I'm not a rider and not really intend to. But I loveeee these vids!!!
One day I’m gonna get me a horse like this. Possibly even from y’all since I’m gonna live so close!
Who is smarter ...... Horses or Dogs ????
Because they are predators like humans, dogs are more easily relatable to us so they come off as “smarter.” I’d say that horses are just as intelligent though. It just takes more effort on man’s part to figure them out.
She'll be enlisting for service in no time! 😂
This is some dumb shit...

Why are you using a running martingale? Get softer with your hands. Ironic that you are doing a piece on using reins.
I also had my split reins tied in a knot like a dude; because this was the most basic introduction to reins I could make, intended primarily for first-time riders. It would make absolutely no difference if all I had on her was a halter. The martingale is just what happened to be what I was using on this little filly in the arena that day before the filming happened.

Give this guy a bitless bridle!
There is nothing wrong with a bit, he doesn’t misuse it 😅
That’s definitely what he’s doing! 🤣
Go away! Get a life!! I'm trying to take a nap!!!

If you can donate to Horse Plus Humane Society It would very appreciated $1 to $10 donations to help save horse , pony, mules an donkey thanks
