Expensive,no better than the other brands out there, not going to get into a war of words over my comments,I have way cheaper brands do the same job and better, doesnt matter how much you pay your still gonna get cold and wet whatever.
Which other brands would you look at?
I have no doubt whatsoever that Jottnar kit is Top Class and the adage You Get What You Pay For rings true most of the time however £60 for a woolly Hat. My answer to your question on kit purchase,I have always used Buffalo and, Snugpak cos of price and suitable in the past for my needs.
@@phil1953 its only £40 for the hat 🤣. I have only tried on one of their jackets and thought yeah its much better than anything out there, however that is comparing it to Rab, Montane, Berghaus
As with all outdoor gear cheaply made in China expensively sold in the western world. I own the Fenrir, and it does say lightweight and is similar to other brands in its lightweigt credentials. It states 850fp like many others, on a cold day it is ok, but on a windy day the wind does get through the stitching.
I have several Jottnar items and whilst they are made in China I cannot fault them. Not only is the detail exceptional, the execution is also, which is something I don't think I could say about other manufacturers (stitching not straight, zip pull toggles the wrong way around, seam tape not covering seam, to name a few). I would go as far as to say the build quality is the best out there!
The build quality is fine I have no issues with that. The jacket as I stated on windy days does allow the wind through.
It's a British company, headed in Cardiff.
I have their Fojm down jacket it's amazing and their hardshell aswell really impressive kit very very durable hard-shell
Fantastic review and well presented. Which of all the down jackets that you have owned or reviewed would you say would be your favourite?
The best advert is everyday people using a brand, and singing its praises on the hill.
Hi Max, I've recently completed my ML training in Snowdonia also, I struggled with the contour side of nav, getting to grips with it now. Your breakdown was very clear, thanks for taking time to make this video. All the best Gabby.
Hi Gabby, I’m glad the video has helped. The contour side of nav is something a lot of people struggle to get the hang of. But getting out and practicing will help a lot. I practiced a lot by going to places where there was very few features and had to navigate just using contours
@@max_fitzy Hi Max, that’s what I have been doing , I’ve been out and about on Brecon Beacons which I’m sure you know is pretty featureless terrain, getting there slowly, it’s hit and miss , but it is getting better, Cheers Gabby.
