A simple chat on Atonement Theories | EASY TO UNDERSTAND with scripture references
What even is an atonement theory? Why do people make this conversation so complicated?
Let's have a quick little chat about it.

1. Penal Substitution: This theory says that Jesus took the punishment for our sins on the cross, satisfying God's justice and allowing us to be forgiven.
2. Moral Influence: This theory says that Jesus' death is a powerful example of God's love, inspiring us to change our lives and reconcile with God.
3. Christus Victor: This theory says that Jesus defeated the powers of sin, death, and evil through his death and resurrection, restoring humanity's relationship with God.

Hi, thank you for sharing. My name is Tracy. I am new to reading the Word of God, and I find it amazing. I have dyslexia, and reading the NKJV can be difficult for me, so I choose to read the ESV Bible because the wording is easier to understand. Is there another Bible that could help me understand the Word of God better? I read the Bible every day and am really enjoying the stories. I'm also curious about how everything comes together. Please help!
!!!
This was great! Thank you!!
As I was saying...something everyone misses is that the cross establishes and demonstrates the worthiness of Jesus Christ to rule and to reign. The cross shows the world that Jesus Christ loves His Father through His obedience, "That the world may know that I am loving the Father, and according as the Father directs Me, thus i am doing..."(John 14:30,31) "He humbles Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore, also, God highly exalts Him..."(Phil 2:8,9) "Thou lovest righteousness and hatest injustice; Therefore Thou art anointed by God, Thy God, with the oil of exultation beyond Thy partners."(Heb 1:9) "The one who is conquering, to him will i be granting to be seated with Me on My throne as I also, conquer, and am seated with my Father on His throne."(Rev 3:21) The whole of Rev chapter 5 is about the worthiness of Jesus Christ and what He is rewarded with. The kingdom, throne, power, and authority He receives becomes the basis for our blessing, just as the power and authority Joseph received becomes the basis for Egypt's blessing. Very informative! My view is basically Christus Victor, or what I like to call "The Hero's Journey." The Bible is a book about heros--Abraham, Joseph, David, Esther, etc.--all pointing to the Hero par excellence, Jesus Christ. Adam and Eve were given the job of taking care of the garden, but they "failed" and were fired. Jesus succeeded in every way. He lived a life that was full of love for His neighbor and love and devotion to His Father. Jesus' obedience was perfect. This delighted God, who rewarded Jesus with a kingdom, a throne, and all power and authority in heaven and on earth. While Adam and Eve were "fired" from their job, Jesus was given the "job" of being King of kings and Lord of lords. And with that power and authority He brings blessing, life, salvation, deliverance, and sets all things right. Here is a short explanation of the concepts: www.academia.edu/34689178/Introduction_to_Christus_Victor_docx

I see a difference between using a song for the sabbath day gathering with the saints (that is commanded by the lord), different than singing this song outside of that gathering. So genuine question, do you think is a good idea for us to spend that commanded time singing a song (the bridge) to ourselves telling ourselves to praise God rather than actually praising and singing to God by singing a song that praises him and who he is? Like if we are already at church it seems like we already got our soul up and to church to sing to God. Maybe a believer can sing this to God in the morning before church? Lol. This song has always not been my favorite to hear in a church service and I’m trying to get to the bottom of that. Do you think there’s error in my thinking here? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks 🙂
Hi🤟♥️

I believe he is in every book of the Bible

So pretty 🙏🏻
I have a simple yet not so simple question i want to discuss. The Bible talks about not giving false testimony/witness. It's one of the 10 commandments and one of the 7 things the Lord hates in Proverbs. So the question is this : Would lying to save someone's life, be considered a sin ? for example like Rahab did about the spies or people hiding Jews during the 2WW ? - Also i get that the 10 commandments are now fulfilled in 2 - Love the Lord your God and your neighbor. However once we lean on our own understanding it becomes grey territory. for eg. i would say Jezebel loved Ahab and that love caused her to kill Naboth. What are your thoughts ?
I guess if you can avoid lying, that would be the better way to go. The Bible gives an example of this in 1 Samuel 16 of a situation where (albeit it is not your example of safety) Samuel is to anoint David King but he cannot tell the people there that so he only gives some of the reason why he is there, to give a sacrifice to the Lord and omits the other and main reason which was to anoint David King. The Psalms also talk more about the dangers of lying. So perhaps maybe you can omit certain information without lying. Although I am aware that I don't know exactly know what you are going through so it can be hard to give advice. I hope that helps
Blessings from India !

I tend to disagree but agree. The ancient kings of Israel were commanded to read the word of God daily and to make their own copy in their own hand, in Deuteronomy 17:18-20. The Psalms 1:1,2 says that "happy is the man that reads the word of God day and night". So while it is not implicitly commanded, it is encouraged in scriptures like 1 Timothy 3:16. When you think about it, everything we come to know and believe about God comes from his word the bible. It's his instruction manual for us on how to live.
Does the idea of castles come from Jesus saying He's going to prepare a place for us, & "In my Father's house are many mansions" ? I'm not sure the scripture reference off the top of my head but could go get it. I'm curious, what ate you're thoughts on that?
On the topic of lucifer/Satan the story as we know it about Satan being lucifer and him rebelling against God and falling from heaven and taking a third of the angels with him isn't in the Bible either. The scriptures used to "back up" this story are very vague and I find myself wondering where this story came from and why it's soooo widely accepted?
1:50 i think this idea comes from the fact that Mary Magdalene, Mary of Bethany, and the sinful woman from Luke 7 have been conflated. It was an official Catholic doctrine for a long time that they are the same person. And while there is evidence that Mary Magdalene and Mary of Bethany could have been the same person in the original text of John (there's some weird stuff going on with changed names in some of the oldest manuscripts; Elizabeth Schrader Polczer has really interesting research on that), there is no absolutely no reason in the text to believe that the sinful woman in Luke is Mary
😮😮😮thank you for this
Cringe. Keep your religion to yourself
For Part 2 you should pair Ecclesiastes and Philippians! They are similar themes but Philippian presents the themes of Ecclesiastes in a more positive sounding way.
Wholesome✝️
So helpful❤

I'd be more concerned with the Bible being a work of fiction rather than which sex had more "fun." :)
First time someone sinned to 😁
Your last statement is just factually wrong. It was not a group of women who first preached the gospel. It was Jesus.Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. Please get your Bible facts right before you go mouthing off on RUclips. And remember 1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
"Matthew 28:5-8 [5] But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. [6] He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. [7] Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told you.” [8] So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. "
A group of women were the first bear witness to the truth of Jesus Christ's words and go on to confirm all of His prophecies to his disciples. Therefore being the first people outside of Jesus himself to witness and share full account of the completed life, death and resurrection of the King, further confirming the teachings of the Gospel of the Kingdom that Jesus came to give.
Regarding that Corinthians verse, that chapter and letter to that church is generally speaking on bringing order and proper edification to Christ when the church meets. Historically, men were appointed as spiritual leaders, given responsibilty to organize the church to do right by what Jesus taught. That was simply the way it was in that time. That being said Paul encourages women to not bring chaos nor disrupt the time they had to worship together and trust the appointed leaders as they are appointed by Christ to prophecy and teach. Paul assumes he's speaking to people who genuinely believe in the Gospel therefore trusts that the men of the church will not withold any truth from their wives as they can have more intimate and open-ended conversations about the gospel in a safe home setting. Cultural context is extremely important when analyzing what may seem at surface level belittling or disrespectful to a certain group in the bible.
Cherry picking only the examples of positivity towards women in the scriptures is very deceptive. The Bible definitely has negative sexist information aimed at women
Thanks for your comment, do you have any specific scripture that you can back that claim up with? If so, maybe we can put it in historical/cultural context and help eachother understand our opposite viewpoints. God bless you and keep you! Women are extremely important to humanity's love story with Jesus. We are all equal under Christ the true King🙏
@@orlandopre97 Dr Jennifer Bird wrote the book on this. This video is very helpful ruclips.net/video/Lnl8Gk2clAM/видео.htmlsi=citHEtZsoccSHcgi I think you should honestly look at what the Bible says instead of blindly pushing an agenda. Dr Bird has a lot of videos that point out the sexism all throughout the Bible. Educate yourself as to what the text says. For example , lev 27:3 set the value of a male between the ages of twenty and sixty at fifty shekels[a] of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel[b];4 for a female, set her value at thirty shekels[c God sets the prices for slavery and women are sold for less. In I Peter they are called the weaker vessel.1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. The culture is sexist and the Bible does not address it. In fact the Bible embraces the culture on the issue.
1 Timothy 2:12 - "I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet."
"1 Timothy 2:1-2, 8 [1] I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- [2] for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. [8] Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. 1 Timothy 2:13-15 [13] For Adam was formed first, then Eve. [14] And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. [15] But women will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety."
Important to note that Paul first addresses men to live holy lives in order to worship correctly and be good examples to their wives and families. He then goes onto rebuke any vanity that could be a distraction from worshipping God to the fullest extent, specifically jewelry or expensive clothing worn by women, no doubt due to how easily men are distracted by lust when looking at an attractively dressed female. Therefore he is rebuking the objectification of females and lifting them to the same status and responsibilty as men in the act of worship. Paul holds men responsible for being truthful and compassionate teachers, thus giving women no reason to doubt their husband's or raise questions against them, but to recieve and obey the truth of God's Word. Therefore worship is not disrupted and we can praise God shamelessly and equally as He originally intends, Paul cites Adams and Eve as an example of what happens when we allow worldly things to interfere with what we were made to do, give all Glory to King Jesus.
Wow preach! So inspiring to know that there are zealous women encouraging others to read God's Word! There is so much more to it than the Sunday sermons! Thanks for your awesome contributions❤

which denomination do you practice?
Hi Scar. I just wanted to thank you for posting this content and for just being you. You’ve really inspired me to look at my partnership with God in a fresh perspective.
If it’s written by Bethel it couldn’t be totally biblical. I can’t believe how many churches sing this in their church.
I think some christian songs can also be a story of what God has done in their life. for me, God gave me the gift of singing and when I am stressed or burdened or feeling anything im having trouble coping with, I sing. singing invites the Holy Spirit and angels with me, it is a form of prayer from the deepest (sometimes darkest) parts of the soul. and that is Biblical. somewhere in Psalms. David wrote various songs and they became scripture. but it was literally just him pouring His heart out to God. thats why we have different gifts - but all of them are to be used to glorify Him. sometimes, its not exact scripture but a personal experience of how God has worked in their life. it CAN also be a personal expression and thanks to God. crying out when sad. like, I am TERRIBLE at expressing myself with words, and when I dont know how to pray or what to pray. I sing. and that always helps me. sometimes I cry while I sing but it is always a communication with the Divine Father. just something to keep in mind.
😮😮😮😮
This isn’t any hate at all, but shouldn’t you read the Bible before fully committing yourself toward that religion?

not hate at all
why do christian’s all have to be like nazis and spread their beliefs and hate any other religion
