just one thing I’d like to add don’t let go of those nuts with the little tab on them until you get a bolt started in them . They can slip and slide down into the car. Don’t ask me how I know😊 and they’re not cheap if you have to buy them from mopar.
I would have got the flywheel resurfaced and not just a die grinder.
What about torque specs?
Copy and paste everywhere
awesome video i figured it out lol 😝
Oh and how did the bypass do? No codes after installing?
Thank you sir and you are a professional
Only video I could find that shows the removal of the shifter plate. Awesome watch, thank you!
Thank you for this video!
Hey ... this is really great. Looks like you were able to replace the cam gears without pulling the motor. Do you know why Toyota says we need to pull the motor for this job? I ask you this because I have a 2010 RAV4 with the 2GR-FE 3.5L engine with 250k miles. It's starting to make the quick rattle on cold startups. Not very often, but it can't be good. I'm going to first try cleaning the Oil Control Valves and the oil feeder screens. If that doesn't work, I'll have to replace the camshaft gears. Why does Toyota say we have to pull the engine for this? Maybe because they want us to also replace the timing chain?
Good video, thanks. I just did this on a 2010 Sienna. I couldn't get a socket on the bolt holding the VVT on without lifting the cam a half inch. You can't do the intake VVT without removing the timing chain. The exhaust just has a secondary chain linking it to the intake, so that one can be done.
Best video ever simple as ever
Perfect!!!
Appreciate this video very much, thanks for making and posting this.
This is very helpful I do it all the time but it was nice to see where I need to go without exploring double thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼 ThankU
My 2001 steering has some slip in both directions. When jacked up, I can move the wheels left and right and the steering rods just slap back and forth. Just got new cc axles and stabilizer bushings to put on, but thinking I need to do this too.
Wow, no wonder these little cars are sitting around junkyards. Too much work for me!
Thank you, Alan👍
MY FRIEND YOU A LIFE SAVER !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you sir is it your video has been very helpful thank you
Does the steering shaft self align or do you need to mark it? Also did you have to use a cross barr to support the engine and transmission while you had the cradle down?
What would you charge to do this?
It pays like 3 hours plus alignment. $300 plus parts would be a good price.
thank you
Nice video!!! Is this something that should be done on a certain mileage or only when needed item?
Excellent video, photos and description. Thank you Sir.
Did you have to secure the motor from the top before removing the cradle?
no
he would of said so.
I thought vax was MOB
Brother you are the man! Best video ever! You should be a teacher, since you know how to do it! Great job explaining! You don't know! 👍👍👍👍😃
can you do a video on just replacing the clutch cable
next time tells us to turn the bolt, you left that part out. thank you fort he video
what next time? this time! don't leave any parts out LoL
Love this video!!! Perfect from start to finish!!!!
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12 KJV “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 KJV “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 KJV “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 KJV “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 KJV
Who ever designed this needs to be tortured for eternity, doomed to replace water pumps for every owner of these junk heaps free of charge and with no rest... What a damn ridiculous design... 🤬
Did you have to take out the bolts going to both shocks also for the sub frame to come down?
no
he would of said so.
Love the intro. Straight to the point
Looks like I will be doing a simialar? job for the nieghbors jeep, seems throwout bearing threw up, out or something! Love this mans calm cool collective voice and attitude, saying (with a little time,a little cussing, not too difficult!) Just don"t squash yer fingers! Great vid, thanks for sharing!
He is so awesome is not even funny! You can tell he is the man!
Good video..I did exactly what you did.but now my steering column shaft wont go up where it suppose to..its like being to short.been on this last 2 days.what would be the problem.thanks
sorry so late see post. Hope you got it worked out.
Thanks for making this. The throw out bearing, I think is what it's called, has gone out in my 2012. I like to find videos such as this so I can be somewhat educated on what the mechanics are going to be doing to my vehicle.
Very nice job. Going to use your method
Just want to say thank you for the great video. Getting ready to pull the transmission in my Jeep to replace the rear main seal and put in a new clutch and pressure plate.
Best video i ever seen thank you sir.
That's a great video "riaght derr"
thanks Alan good work
I just drill 2 small holes in the frame and put 2 hex sheet metal screws in them. I remove the screws, remove the bolts holding the bracket and then remove the steering unit. Putting it back together I put the bolts to the bracket in and once it's snug I put the 2 screws back in, tighten them up and then tighten the bracket bolts. Everything is lined up because the screws re-align the bracket. I remove the screws and put a little black RTV in the hole to prevent water from getting in.
Fantastic video, thanks!
Awesome job
Question: The main tensioner, how do you get that to "tension" ? I turned it clockwise, got the belt on, but it does not seem to pop back and when I go CCW, the bolt comes out. Any ideas on what to try next ?
sorry i,m a little late on comment. Hope you got it fixed.
@@alanscarrepair5390 well, I said that's not right, no tension, so do the fn job again ! When I pulled out the new tensioner, the tab had broken off, that is why it would not clock, it had nothing to push against...but you know it was pull the power steering, air box, lower engine to frame mount, etc...PITA..thanks for the reply. Wiating on a new tensioner...
thank you Alan for you time....the only video around on this ….
I copied the URL and posed it in FB, someone was asking about this job. I like how concise the video is and the sketch of the belt routing. My 06, same process. I came back to make sure I just jack engine up to get to the 3 bolts on the water pump. 8 hours, 3 bolts ! Thumbs up !
Good explanation!
About 15 minutes for a water pump on a 1998. Chevrolet 8 hours for a Volkswagen....... my girlfriend has a VW beetle 2007 identical to this one in the video..... water pump just started leaking......... I literally have to take the damn engine out of its mounts and strip half the car just to change the water pump........
