Sociology once understood spiritual anxiety as an important metric in social analysis, but it gradually disappeared as the idea of humans as naturally spiritual slipped away. Only by restoring the concept, however, can we understand the fervor and the features of our current identity politics. With the collapse of the Mainline Protestant churches that once defined the American scene, a vacuum formed that could only be filled by a new church-a very Protestant-styled Church of Christ Without Christ. In their anxiety t...

Blah, blah, bah...That's all well known Victor! Let's move on shall we and look what OUR government did after the dust settled. Did we extract reparations from Japan and Germany to clean up the giant mess we had to make in places like the tri-state mining district in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri where the mining industry went whole hog on steroids to produce the weapons of war we needed? NO! Did we make Japan, Russia and others to clean up the mess from uranium mining to produce the bombs we needed to win and those needed to support the subsequent arms race? NO! These countries we saved, fought, rebuilt and protect today owe us!!! Lets have that conversation! If you don't agree - I'm ready to debate you!!!

2023 email from Heather Mac Donald from New York Times article. "As I was taking my evening power walk in the hood here (upper east side) and seeing all the nannies of color walking school children back to their apartments, it struck me again the bizarreness of females deciding that their comparative advantage is in being an associate in a law firm, say, and thus that they should outsource the once in a lifetime unduplicable unrepeatable experience of raising a unique child to some one else, especially someone from the low IQ 3rd world, while they do the drone work of making partner. The child is evolving so quickly, absorbing so many influences, and yet they would rather absent themselves from its life to show that they are as good as males. such a distribution of labor is allegedly pareto optimal. Another curse of feminism."

long time admirer of josh, since my days as a graduate student in classics and then again in linguistics and now on the eve of a return to the academy, such as it, after a 10 year hiatus, working and living, but i have to disagree with the prediction of 20 years for this madness to end. i do have the benefit of the last 3 years in the rearview mirror so to speak since this talk was given, so perhaps this isn't helpful but i'll say it anyway, namely in this new age of social media and diversified news and information sources, things move much more rapidly and sea change proportions of cultural shifts likewise can be experienced almost over night. this will continue to pick up speed. indeed, this madness is already coming to an end as observable in this week's presidential election results. whatever you think of 47, his election was a rejection of the wokeness that has benefitted from primacy the last several years.

All you have to hear is her statement that 'some cultures are SUPERIOR than others' to see how easy it can be to believe in this inherently violent position of superiority when you have an internally colonized mindset especially when all you grew up with was what still is hopeless oppression. But her labeling those who call out truth to oppressive power of ANY KIND as ungrateful and victimization cry babies, denies the LONG FOUGHT STRUGGLE that many generations of us actively engage in to correct the continuing injustices that she herself might have been victim of when she arrived, had it not been for the voices and the spilled blood of those of us who have shaken the west away from it colonizing savage impulses. So LABELING our lived experiences of oppression as "victimization" not only is a desecration of all the collective work that has been done by our multicultural TRIBES seeking justice and HARMONY... it is a DENIAL of history and how far we have come to make the places she has taken refuge in since she left Somalia beacons of hope.

Sealion? I have YET to conclude that Hitler and Sealion was any more as 'gonna happen' as Napoleon and his invasion. Sealion would probably have been Hitler's Borodino, because the RAF would have never been as necessarily beaten to allow a successful invasion considering the RN's capabilities against the 'moisture-laden dreams' of HItler. Even the Wehrmacht and Navy couldn't agree in their planning, much less agreed in their 'final plan', which would have given the RAF to recover AND the RN to step up it's game. TIME IS EVERYTHING, and the banality of thinking the Nazis were ready to invade is clear.

She wasn't self-taught. She just didn't go to art school. Her father was a well known painter in Versailles, and she comes from a famous line of artists in the French Court. She perfected her skills as a young woman by painting postard portraits for people visiting the chateau. As she was the same age as Marie Antoinette and the two became great friends. Her works are outstandingly beautiful and valourising of woman for their own sake. I love her works.
