Holy cow! Pantry shelves
We built the shelves for the pantry, mom worked on the stair treads, we got our round window fixed, we did some work on the downstairs bedroom and we had a little cow drama.

We did actually get a little side tracked with some artistic touches but we are still working on our dry cement floor leveling in the living room.
Dry Pour Cement

We are leveling the living room floor using the dry pour method. It’s not going to be a finished cement floor since it doesn’t need to be smooth, we are going to tile it.
Painting cement walls & bathroom vanity
Просмотров 42Месяц назад
We are working on the hall and stairwell. The walls are cement. We did some patching with plaster (same stuff used with drywall) Then painted everything in white primer. After that dried we painted with the final color. We chose a sand color. It’s almost done, but the paint ran out. We started the second bathroom vanity and moved it into the downstairs bathroom, but it is still far from done. T...

I Flew Back to the US

I made a month long trip back to the US to visit my friends and loved ones that I didn’t get to say “goodbye “ to, and bring back my daughter for Christmas.
Speechless! I simply admire you all, how incredible it is to see this whole process! I will always wish you nothing but the best❤
What an artist you guys are....thanks. Im just hoping to get the paint on the walls and ceilings...
So creative with what you have....love the plate on the stairwell. Are you going to do tongue/ groove wood for ceiling?
As an elder I perfectly understand your mom making you work very hard and get her done. Time is not on our side...she wants to enjoy the house before she passes....
Beautiful stove and like the stairway arrangement.
I remember walking through those jungles and you would see the whole floor moving lol, those ants used to have ant hills the size of cars throughout the jungle and carrying everything with them .
@@atribecalledcookies4 there are a lot of ants and different kinds of them too
So how much was 27 acres out there? we used to be stationed out there back in the day.
Wow, you guys have made some good progress. Nice!
Good job...alot has changed in few short months
@@alicecoppers8980 thanks. It’s hard work. Mom never lets me have a day off 🥵😂
Let’s work together to get this done! ❤ gofundme link?
@@thomastimothy777 Thank you 🫶🏻 I appreciate you but we aren’t asking for financial help on this. I will admit that money is tight for us, but I still feel like we can do it
Thanks for your openness.
How exciting to create your own place in Panama…. I love this location, the tree is magnificent…. So glad you kept it… Thinking of retiring in Panama…. Did you ladies do a relocation tour??? I have heard good and bad things…. I love your bravery to venture away from the USA… it’s getting so unaffordable…. God bless you ladies and I can’t wait to see your finished product….Best wishes…
How much did you pay for the red house itself without remodel costs?
We ended up paying $50,000 for the red house before renovations and we were quoted $57,000 and some change for the reno.
Wow what a project! We are heading to Panama tomorrow! Very excited! Is rebuilding the least expensive route to go?
You could buy a house that only needs some renovations. The less renovations the higher the price, of course. We were quoted $55,000 for our project. I would caution you to check on the work frequently though. As much as your construction team seem to be on the same page as you, they are going to be off on atleast some things.
Been there last year
Yes saw that rock and we ate there too
Looking at your renovation project in the beginning, this is sadly how many houses look like in Panama. I am living in Panama now for over 4 years. If it is in Panama City, the surrounding areas, Panama West - through the whole country. People run out of money or $ what expats do - just leave and let the property fall apart because they thought Panama would be paradise. Even development companies just run out of money. People must understand that the property market is not comparable with North American or Europe! You can still find advertising offering “NEW HOMES “ build in 2012!! They just look like your property in the beginning when you got it. I bought an affordable lot and build by myself. I live in the Coronado area. Boquete is far out of my league price wise! From properties to restaurants! All the best for your stay in Panama.
There are a good number of “ruins” here. We looked at a lot. This one had potential. It will be nice when it is done. This much fixing up isn’t for everyone though. We aren’t planning to charge $1M for this when it’s done either. I have seen some expensive properties too. We will look at comps before we price it.
@waywardstrays Good luck with your project. I hope you do understand that properties are for years on the market. No way to flipping houses here like in North America years ago.
Those houses don’t seem very safe. Be careful what you buy
There are more modern houses with amenities available but you usually get what you pay for 😆 and I’m a little cheap.
Cheap is good. But only sometimes. I was / bin in the same situation. But what real estate agents did show me was just horrible. So, because I am looking to get the best value for the money, I just decided to buy a lot and build up myself a house. This is much cheaper than buying a run down property.
I'm really enjoying your vids & look forward to seeing more of them. Are your fish tilapia?
Thank you 🫶🏻 I’m happy you enjoy them.
Those are Tilapia but it’s a rental so they aren’t mine.
Retire in Panama If you are planning to retire in Panama we can help with Panama Residency Visa. Typical processing time is 6 months. We have an expedited service that takes 6 weeks or less.
Thank you, but we are using an attorney that was recommended by the expats Facebook group
Always get it dry fix the roof first
Normally I would agree with you. However this place was abandoned for a long time and exposed to rain. The roof will definitely be on before we start the finishes
Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing the finished house.
Ir'd be nice to know what you paid for the farm and what you expect to pay for the remodel
We paid $130,000 for the farm. It’s costing us $55,000 to fix the red house. So I’m optimistic about what it’s going to cost us to get a house built.
can you say just WHERE it is ? approximately? the Chiriqui province is pretty big....?@@waywardstrays
@@harmonyintouch It is in the Potrerillos Abajo area.
Моя мечта приехать в Панаму, город Давид
Congratulations!!! Cant wait to move there. Wish Mom the quick recovery. What are you going to plant? How far from Bouquette?
Our property is between Bouquete and Volcan. Thank you! We have so many plants! We have Boganvilia, dwarf morning glories, Alternanthera Snow Balls, Chinese Ixora, Grape Myrtle, Bleeding Hearts, Shooting start, and then there’s the fruits and vegetables. Everything is in pots for now. I’m sure we will add to our collection by the time we are ready to plant things in the ground.
Nice area... LIttle tip, the easy way to clean up bushes and tall grass is goats. Ask around. Many people will bring them over ( the ones that have them) for free/ at least back in the day . Nice video!
@@rodhowaboutthat4468 we have owned goats and kind of swore off them. We do have plans to get some sheep though. Something we won’t have to sheer.
Price?
It’s making me dizzy
Congratulations! Wishing you all the best. Pretty rough at the moment, but definitely workable. I suspect you're gonna end up loving it. Take care! J
I was told Anteater makes Great Pet's 😊 / kidding...nice video!
Haha I would love that but they probably wouldn’t let me have one
Great video. Your house is great! Just the kind of thing I hope to find for my stay in Panama.
$400!??
Yes, $400 a month!!!
Happy New Year to you and yours! What a great trip!
Happy new year! I saw they had an amazing display at the Space Needle. Are you in Mexico? How was it there?
Well you get what you pay for, you want more you pay more!!
Totally true! I’m really not complaining. It’s more like pointing out common things you’ll find in homes and things to watch out for.
Other than Chiriqui Provence, where is this in the province? Or what is it near?
🎉❤ congratulations on your new property! What a project you have ahead! You're gonna do Great 😊
Thank you so much! You can watch it take shape.
I'm in love with this Journey! ♥️ Hope everything goes well day by day for you and your mom.
