Usually I take the pins out of the boots and re-grease them also you didn't say how many pounds you need to retighten the calipers
Good post. Thank you.
What happened to back-up camera install video?
Paint clogs pads. If paint hits the brake surface remove it.
question, did you keep the steering wheel controls and if so what module did you use?
No extra things jyst the main replacement. Only the voice command doesnt work.
How do you add the back camera
please no one follow this video . the piston should not be twisted in. The E brake motor should be removed.
What’s the link for the special tool?
Yes link for tool kit?
Thx for this video it help me a lot
You made one mistake that I know of. You only mentioned and showed two bolts that hold the original head unit in. There are actually 4 and the outer one on the driver's side is hard to get at.
did you connect a microphone or you don't have too.
There was no mic included on the unit so maybe thats why my talk button doesn't work
@@dexdin03 The unit did not came with a mic. but it came with a black connector for the mic and it's attached with the other audio cables.
No mic it did not come with one
but is it compatible with the steering wheel button?
Skip track ,previous track, volume up, volume down. That’s all that I got to work. it doesn’t detect the call and hang up buttons when I go to pair them for some reason
@@StaticJose thanks for the amazing feedback
For me nothing connected to jbl un factory connectors. Is there a generic harness I need to buy?
The piston pushes straight back once you fully retract the parking brake by applying 12v atvyhe terminals and doesn't require that tool. You are literally twisting the rubber boot on the piston and can possible rip it. Please don't follow this method.
I did everything just the way u did but my reverse camera was not working. please can u make video for that😊
Hi did you figure it out?
My wasn't came with the right power cable? How?
Hello! Thank you for the great instruction! I'm also waiting for a video on installing the rearview camera. I already received a new head unit, but I don't want to install it yet, because I want to install it together with the camera so that I don't have to remove the radio twice.
I am looking for the video i made but i couldn't find it. Ill search more thanks.
@@dexdin03I need this video please find it
Thank you so much!! Please, what's the name of the replacement upgrade?
Hello! Will there be a video with the installation of the rear view camera.
Yes thanks for asking ill upload this week thanks.
@@dexdin03 great, thanks
Where to buy this?
Ebay search for your car model for fitting
Does this have a backup camera input? I have a backup camera but the video goes to a tiny screen in the dash above the factory radio. Thank you for sharing
Yes it does output.
Yes it does the connection might be different. Need to cut the wire and connect to the other wire that leads to the connector at the back of the unit. Ill check my files ill upload the backup camera installation.
I was also hoping to see that
Hi, from where do you get this new unit?
Ebay i have the link of the product below make to search the product that fits your car. Connections for every car is different.
Hello, I have a problem installing the head unit because the wire harness seems not to match. Please what can I do and how can I contact you?
Did you buy a compatible unit. Like in ebay it will tell if it fits for your car. Only 3 wires needed if you look at the video. The other wires are not needed like volume control its already built in.
@@dexdin03 The wire only fit to one
@samueladesanoye8094 so thats not compatible with your car return it and get a compatible one.
Im not a mechanic or anything i just install mine and posted it.
hi do you still have steering wheel controls control with this unit?
Yes you can assign it in settings. Tthe only thing i dont have is the talk button. The rest works.
That’s great how does it sound? does it have proper bass?
@Musical Experiments yes its great like my original system. You can adjust things on it.
What model did you install?
I search up in ebay and put in my car details. Its from easybuying.

Shouldn't you remove the E Brake motor before retracting the piston?
You just have to remove the e brake connector as mentioned.
My caliper piston will not go back. I’ve used the tool to try to get it to push back. It isn’t doing it for some reason.
Did you twist it like what i did
@@dexdin03 yes, the piston is pushed out far, I will try a different way tomorrow and see it helps
I home you were able to push that piston so you could fit the new pads.
@@dexdin03 No, unfortunately the Piston is too far out, it’s not retracting I’ve tried everything.
Remove the E Brake motor with a #5 hex. Once removed, you'll see where you can use the same #5 hex where the E Brake motor engages the caliper. Turn it clockwise by hand until it stops. Then try to push the piston back( meaning turn it back) again.
You didn’t need to resurface the rotors?
You didn't need to as it was smooth and still ok. And infact this is a dyi for most people just basic.
