Where the oil filter is in a different orientation that prevents pre-filling with oil, do you recommend using Clear Flood Mode. While I understand this involves a full throttle open cranking process, I've yet to have the guts to start an engine on what is effectively full throttle with an empty oil filter. Any thoughts?

Hi. How do you stop it on a freshly rebuild engine with new pistons, rings and liners???

GDI and hybrid - great when new and driven by short term political targets set in total oblivion to the real and eventual rebuild costs, both monetary and carbon, in mid term later life.......Progress....my Ar*e. Worse than that it's wrong.

It would be interesting to see how stringent the regulations on the production of diesel fuels are becoming in comparison to the oils / after treatment devices. Used Morris on the last two services of my BMW with LL04 spec and had good results both times.

What type of Morris Lubricants' cylinder oil does the Talisman use?

God I’ve got a 50 year old Fantic Caballero TX 96 50cc Moped and will I still be able to ride it in 2025 as my emissions from the Engine/Exhaust wouldn’t be euro 1 let alone euro 7 😮Lol. A very interesting video all the same though so thanks Morris Lubricants and Guy Martin 👌👏👍

How about ring gap. With aluminum pistons you run larger ring gap because of the expansion of aluminum pistons. However, will ring gaps be tighter and allow less blow-by past the piston?

We’ve sold Morris Lubricants oil in our garden machinery business for years. My father used to swear by your oils and had a really good relationship with our area rep. A video with Guy on your garden machinery oils would be great.

That's where I first noticed Morris Lubricants in the 1970's. 2 of my friends were diesel fitter/mechanics. One of them, whos family ran a transport haulage firm used mostly ERF trucks with Gardner 180 engines, some of them had done over a million miles. When I went into their workshop there was always a 45 gallon barrel of Morris Lubricants in the corner. The other mate of mine worked for a transport company, and in his workshop they also had a 45 gallon barrel of Morris Lubricants oil in the workshop. So when I lodged at my sisters house, next door was a motor factors, and guess what oil they sold, Morris Lubricants. And as I rode British motorcycles I could finally find the mono-grade oil that I wanted to use in them, and so far 40 odd plus years later, I am still using Morris Lubricant in my BSA and my Harley Davison's.

very good oil and British ...just wish they would change the crappy steel 25lt drums with a plastic lid for a plastic drum .. Evan new unopened drums will get water in them if left outside and when empty you cannot use them for anything else like a diesel...in the past, i have changed oil supplier just to get a decent empty drums

I have used Morris Lubricants since the early 1980's. I have run my 2000 Harley Davidson Twin Cam on your Ring Free XHD 40 from new, its now done just under 54,000 trouble free miles. And once my 1972 BSA A65 750 Devimead Lightning is run in, after its complete rebuild, it'll be run on the same.

Nice and informative by Adrian a quick rundown on how oil is blended for public use, can't believe the reduction of oil refineries in UK who would have thought this, makes you wonder the reasoning behind it. Love to see Guy branching off doing these videos , could have watched more of this pity it wasn't a bit longer.

You need to skip the first 45 seconds (all intro guff) and ignore all the mutual congratulations and how brilliant everone is, then you get 10 seconds of the traction engine.

i suppose with about 600 bhp , you dont need to rev the engine to hard , as the torque will push you really hard, so preserving the engine .

Top oil is morris.

This should be a 3 hour series, not 20 minutes! I'd love to see an in depth documentary of how this was done!
