We got invited to play at a massive street party in East London around 1984 sometime before Floyd and Laurel joined us, and before videos were on colour. We sure got the crowd whipped up into frenzy for this one!

Babylon Shall was performed by Floyd Lloyd & The Potato Five during a live session broadcast on Janice Long's Radio One show in 1986 from BBC's Maida Vale studios. The sound quality isn't great as it's taken off the radio. Images are from live performances, sleeves, promotional material and social media.

Any chance of uploading the whole set ? This is fantastic. I was at this gig and if I remember right , it was the last time I saw Floyd Lloyd play with the Potato 5.
I just put up another one, Mad About You. That's all I have at the T&C. By the way, the horn section is active again and have been playing with Maroon Town and The DekkerTones. There are upcoming events in December - see FB or Skiddle if you fancy it.
@@potatofive9379 Thanks for the info . BTW I have an old hissy cassette of 3 songs from the Wendy May session buried in my box room somewhere. I will try to look for it and upload it one day. I think it was the best studio recording they did ( better than the 7 & 12 ) Rocksteady party , Car chase and the things that I do , were the tracks on it
Shame they never put this out on record along with all the other great tunes they did together. Absolutely gutted when they parted ways. Saw this band many times around London and to this day , I still say they were the best live band I ever saw. Never were the same after Floyd departed. I always remember this tune along with Mr Yoyo , your for real and sweet lady. How the hell they never made it big , I dont know.... R.I.P Floyd Lloyd
