Broughton Pianos is a family business with over 35 years’ experience in the piano industry. Starting as a modest business buying and selling used pianos we are now one of the largest showrooms in the UK.
We deal on a national and international scale to ensure we can get the highest quality piano to you for the best possible price. We understand that pianos are often a considerable investment and finance can be hard to come by. It is for this reason we stock a range of second hand and new pianos as well as offering finance schemes to ensure that there is a piano for every possible budget.
Our extensive new state of the art showroom at Weybridge Mill, coupled with our warehouse and workshops have allowed us to expand our operation over recent years to include reconditioning used instruments. This means that thanks to our team of Master Technicians and French Polishers, we have comprehensive quality control over everything we sell.

Chloe Wang, one of the talented finalists at the inaugural Broughton Pianos Junior Piano Competition opened the event with an inspiring performance:

Great demo! I'd love to try one of these pianos out for myself. It's interesting that you recorded this using a combination of the Zoom H8 stereo microphones, and line out from the NU1XA. I'm just wondering if the top lid opens like on an acoustic piano, to let more treble frequencies escape from the cabinet like it would on an acoustic instrument?
Thanks for your comment! It was an experiment - I’ve noticed that recording directly with the line out can sometimes result in a clinical sound, so I wanted to add some ambience with the mics. Next time, I’ll position the unit closer to the piano as I think the mics were a bit too far away. The lid doesn’t open on this particular model.

Thank you for a well articulated and detailed evaluation. I'm searching for a grand presently, and your appraisal certainly prompts me toward considering a Hailun model as a serious contender. I keep hearing and reading warm praises for this piano maker. "Made in China" carries a negative tone, but one most remember that piano manufacturing has consistently moved westward, from Europe to Atlantic US, to Japan and Korea, and now to China. And China is now the foremost piano consumer market. It is almost inevitable that a serious maker like Hailun would emerge and gain honors, just as the Japanese have done with their higher-level brands like Kawai's Shigeru Kawai and Yamaha with its "S" series. Thanks again.

Is this better than Bechstein A124 academy?
Probably not, Bechstein is in its own league! I wish I could find an SU7 here in Canada to play, I find one needs to sit down and play the piano, all pianos have their own character and sound. They can be so different, even in the same models. I think it has much to do with the set up and regulation. I am curious about the SU7, I have heard so many good things about this piano.

All w.Hoffman pianos have are made in Europe, as far as I know, furthermore this piano is made in The Czech Republic by c.bechstein,
it sounds like a U5? but the price is more than a double.....
Would the SU7 be better than a C1X or C2X as they are in a similar price bracket
