Art is the devil's work. To make art one needs a small-preferably a nonexistent-sense of shame. I never felt ashamed of Satanic Toupee, but for many years I was disappointed in it: we had dreamed of making “studio-quality” recordings, and both albums were far from that. Moreover, as the projects always were rushed, the performances were often “loose,” to say the least. But in recent years I have learned to appreciate what was useful in my youthful artistic efforts. Most today have of their youth mainly memories of sneaking into bars with fake IDs. I have the Toupee albums and other artistic projects as the strongest memories of my youth-but I wouldn't trade them for anything: they did, and do, have an undeniable, raw creative-energy. For all their roughness, they will be lasting monuments, whether anyone visits them or not. I stand content in the knowledge that I have been part of some of the most awesomely hideous music ever recorded-and that is no mean feat.

First show I ever went to was Thine Eyes Bleed and Kittie at Call The Office in London. I went to see Kittie because my cousin plays guitar for them, I had never heard of Thine Eyes Bleed. To this day theyre the only band I have ever seen that made me stand motionless in awe while watching their whole set.

the best ep in history i have this on cd, is very cool!
the album where Sepultura officially jumped the shark. in 1992 they were the best thrash metal band in the world. the following year; boring ass groove metal. too much Pantera in the tour bus.
Those first four albums (and the EP of course) are on regular rotation in this house, so the other day I thought "Maybe I should give Chaos A.D. another chance?" I instantly realised why I don't listen to that album or anything that followed. Such a shame.
