Hello, Eric. Part of the RX Crew for Super Smash Bros. Melee. Those defined my childhood days of Elementary school.

This is the thing about Tanaka and the JP in general: the only thing that Japanese have going for them, is that they are Japanese. JPs really aren't that special and if they weren't Japanese they would not be so tight-knit as they are. Being "Japanese" is the only thing keeping that country together, and Tanaka's hubris is what became his undoing. And that brings me to my next point: A year and a half later Abyssea came out, and the level cap became 99, and everything from the past 8 years was trivialized, even the level caps from CoP were removed, and everyone can get from level 30 to max level and merits overnight. Abyssea didnt even pretend to have any lore or story it was just, here's a bunch of loot pinatas. EVERYTHING before got straight thrown under the bus and there was no reason to group anymore. They willfully destroyed their own game because they didn't want player feedback from anyone, because the average JP can't be told anything because it would not be "polite". It took them making a whole new expansion and then Rhapsodies to remove all the timegating to undo what abyssea did and then they stopped making any new content for 10 years. (No, Voracious Resurgance does not count). Japanese people are a tiny island compared to the rest of the world and if it wasn't for North America there economy would have tanked a long time ago and some other country would have take over at some point. I mean no disrespect to the JP people but they need to drop their haughty attitude. The "your going to play our game and give us money anyway" attitude is going to way of the dinosaur once indies start making games in the same vein as the old IPs. You would not have as many customers as you would if you didn't open your market to the US and you know it, and just because I'm big into JP stuff and anime doesn't mean I'm going to be biased toward it, if it sucks it sucks.

You're a bit wrong. Back in 1.0 you would actually hit 0 experience/skill points for a single class. They didnt want players only playing 1 class, they wanted you to play many classes and gain all of cross class actions. However the masses are dumb and only wanted to play 1 class at all times. Also exp gain worked a bit differently at launch. You had a limit and that limit was how many levequests you could do. Which was the main bottleneck of any player trying to grind experience until they added camps.
