Ich wusste gar nicht und staune, dass der große LK noch aktiv ist. Bringt die alten Zeiten zurück!
praticly?
Saw Michael Hedges support Leo at Bogart's in cincy 87. Great duo at end of show. Not much better than that.
As a young guy I was a huge Kottke fan for more than 20 years. Thanks to the tour-manager I had the chance to meet him backstage after a brilliant concert in Germany. We talked for an hour or so in the katering-room. Leo would stand there with a cup of coffe answering my questions. It was one of the happiest moments in my life. Years later a friend brought a video-camera (a huge thing with a tape) to another Kottke-Concert and we taped the hole thing for about two hours. When the concert was finished we took the camera and went backstage to show Leo the recording. He was fine with it but the manager not so much. He demanded the tape and we gave him an empty one leaving the premises with the original recording. After a while the tape got lost, which I regert very much to this day. Leo was my hero and still is, now that I'm 62. His playing style and sound is unique. Now that I'm older I appreciate his music more than ever.
" Geese facts on a muggy day."
Forget about Frank Proffitt, Leo Kottke is about the dullest thing I've heard. I used to like his guitar stuff decades ago, but not anymore. I now find it rather gimmicky and exceptionally predictable. He should be the last one criticizing other players.
Only saw him once on his visit to the UK in London , Dominion Tottenham court road. Bliss
Wow my New FRIEND very good the presentation 10/10 Mick.
Old timer here. I saw Leo at the Victoria Theatre in Dayton ohio in the mid 1970s. 2 guitars & him A Truly Amazing show Ive never forgotten it..vaseline machine gun still my favorite
How old is Leo,now,no matter, just keep picking
Virtuoso
Leo’s voice… “Moose farts on a muggy day”
I thought he characterized it as "goose farts on a muggy day". But it's been decades since I read it.
Greatest guitar player ever. You can see and hear Leo playing on many Trump rallies now a days. He is a true patriot
Liar
So sorry to hear that
@@SupportersofLibrary the truth hurts darling.
@@rockoplane why? Aren’t you happy Leo supports the best president ever?

"Playing a 12 string is like trying to fret the Golden Gate Bridge". "My voice sounds like geese farts on a muggy day" Lines I pass on from this jewel of a person.
He is funny😊 love Leos distinctive voice -and always plays such interesting music
Oh, to have Leo Kottke and Willie Nelson play guitars together.
What a unique musician. And the titles! like "The driving of the year nail"
I had the great honor to see him perform in Champaign, Illinois at the Old Virginia theater, decades ago now ! Where after he was gracious enough to sign an autograph, (which I still have !), and shook his hand, and told him I hope some of his Talent transfered to me ! His playing for me, has always been mesmerizing ! So glad to see him still performing ! 👍😉
What a sweetie! :)
I was very impressed by your performance. Best regard from Japan. 🎶M countryboy🎸
Tu chantes mieux qu’avant, Léo, et tu joues aussi bien de la guitare
So, that's what a baby twelve-string looks like. I wonder if you caught one early enough could you raise it as a eight-strng tenor ?
A little bit painful…😒
Delightful
Pete Seeger played it much better, with more life and feeling
So what?
1. Does this need to be said? 2. Does it need to be said now? 3. Does it need to be said by me? Answer to all three? No.
40 yrs ago Leo dominated all.
I worked in a factory as a welder, with an older fellow who was a Millwright. Occasionally , a "person" would walk up and make a disparaging remark about the job we were doing. Ole John had a ready response : " Any fool can criticize ".
One of my all time favorites. I heard him one time and I was hooked.
Same guitar lick he plays on just about every song.
Which lick?
Time to stop, Leo..🥴☝️
Never! Don’t listen fool.
Why? He loves to play and still draws a crowd. Is there a problem with that?
Id like to have a beer with him. I could keep up with him conversationally . On the guitar he's in another Dimension. Ive been a fan since the early 70's . Kottke/Lang/Fahey Album was addictive.
We have been blessed by Leo's talent and humor, he IS a uniquely American Artistic Treasure!!
National Treasure.
when I first saw this I thought Merle Haggard had been reincarnated...
I thought I was seeing Dick Van Dyke up there. Almost sounds like him too.
Always Sensational!!! Thank you Leo!!! 🎸🎼💫🌟
The master of masters
He’s missing the Sunrise. Maybe I am missing the Sunrise! 😆
what in the world is that guitar?
Taylor, I believe short scale - one of their higher end models.
@@ps-bi2sr looks like maybe the 552
@@mwhubby I think you're right.
saw him recently...brought out this 12 string but didn't play it
About 16 years old I saw him in concert, and he played the entire show with his Kopp 6-string. Only at the encore he came out with his 12-.
Is it cuz of his hand?
Glad to see the Olde Master revert to his 12-string along with the 6. Makes for a much more dynamic set. And such a magnificent sound from it.
why did he stop for a minute? i assume some injury or his regular one was in repair but idk
yes! kept finding other clips recently and...no 12. relieved, hopeful, and glad to see him with one again.
And he's back to playing the 12-string live...
Is that a Taylor, one of those concert size all mahogany? It’s a 12 fret looks like. Playing a lot of shirt scale guitars. Probably helps his hands
@@raptureguitar4234It appears to be so...
@@raptureguitar4234 Guitar sounds funky - is it in tune?
Taylor 562/12
